Chapter 7 - A Bite Of Courage.

••THE NEXT DAY••

Hazel stared at her reflection in the mirror as she combed through her hair, gathering it into a loose ponytail. She wore a white crisp white shirt tucked neatly into a black fitted skirt that stopped just at her knees.

"Yes. You can do this Hazel, it's just an interview so don't be nervous" Hazel mumbled and forced a smile.

She took her handbag, then left the room.

"Good morning Riley!" Hazel greeted.

"Morning Hazel, won't you have breakfast before you leave?" Riley said, worriedly.

"I can't afford to be late for the interview. Bye Riley!" Hazel uttered coolly and left.

"Alright, Good luck Hazel!" Riley said happily.

The ringing sound of her phone made her pause what she was doing. She set the dough aside and pulled off her gloves.

"Hello babe?!" Riley said sweetly.

"Hey darling, I'm finally back from my trip. Can I come over?" A sweet manly voice shot through the phone.

"Really?! Of course you can come over but that will be tonight. I've missed you so much Chris" Riley said with a pout.

A slight chuckle shot through the phone.

"I've missed you too babe, gotta go now bye" Chris voice shot through the phone before the line went dead.

"Yesss!!!" Riley screeched excitedly.

Riley and Chris had been dating for years but Chris had been away on a business trip for almost a year. Riley was relieved and overjoyed that he was finally back.

••SANGUICORP••

Hazel nervously walked into the big building, her palms sweaty. It felt almost unreal, like stepping into heaven. The place was grand and breathtaking, and from the look of it, she could easily tell the company owner was incredibly wealthy!

"Ugh... Hi–good morning" Hazel stuttered, nervously.

"Morning miss, how may I help you?" The receptionist asked, politely.

"I'm here for the interview..." Hazel muttered, softly and bit her lip.

"Oh... Lydia could you please take her to where the interview is being held?" The receptionist said, politely.

"This way miss" The lady known as Lydia muttered, calmly.

Hazel slowly trailed behind her.

•••••••••••••••

"Hazel Morgan?" Mr Charles called out, slowly.

Hazel nodded.

He adjusted his glasses as he studied her files intently.

"Still in college?" he asked seriously.

"Yes sir, but I would love to work part time" Hazel replied slowly.

Soon, the interview was over, Hazel breath out a sigh of relief as she walked out of the office.

"Gosh I wish they would pick me, I can't wait to see the handsome CEO everyday!"

"I heard he's so cold and beautiful like a Greek god"

"Oh my! I think I love him the more!"

Hazel watched as two ladies conversed, they also came for the interview too.

So they only came to work just to see the CEOs face?

Hazel thought and shook her head.

Meanwhile, Vladimir walked out of the elevator but paused when he saw her, her long black hair was pulled into a loose ponytail.

"Why's she here?" Vladimir asked, coldly. His cold and sharp gazed fixed on her petite frame as she walked towards the exit.

"Oh.... That's–

"Hazel Morgan.." Vladimir cuts him off, coldly.

"She's also here for the interview but Charles is done with her" Kael said slightly surprised.

"Hire her" Vladimir stated, firmly leaving no room for argument.

Kael's eyes widened, he stared at Ezren who also stared at Vladimir, surprised.

"Oh... I'll inform Charles right away" Kael stuttered.

Vladimir nodded as he stared at her retreating figure.

Hazel Morgan...?

How interesting.

Meanwhile, Hazel had already left the company and was far from the building. Just as she was about to board a taxi home, she suddenly remembered that since Riley had helped her search for the job, maybe she could surprise her with a gift once she gets hired.

Hazel thought. Smiling, she ran into a big shopping mall.

"Welcome miss, how may I help you?" The sales attendant asked, politely.

"Ugh... I want to buy a dress for someone.." Hazel said, softly.

"Oh... This way please" The sales attendant said with a polite smile, leading Hazel toward the clothing section. Hazel followed quietly, her eyes widening at the beautiful sight in front of her. Rows of elegant dresses and neatly folded outfits lined the racks. She bit her lip nervously, would she be able to afford it?

"You can pick any of your choice, I'll be waiting " The sales attendant said, softly and left.

Hazel smiled when she saw a red mini bodycon gown with short sleeve.

It would suit Riley so well since she has a hourglass shape.

Before she could touch it, someone else snatched it.

"Wow! Who do we have here?!" A sharp voice cuts through the air.

"Our little nerdy bitch. Hahaha!"

Hazel spun around, she frowned when she saw Samantha and her obedient dogs.

"Oh don't be scared darling, we won't hurt you" June uttered with a sarcastic laughter.

"Such a beautiful gown, it really didn't catch my eyes but now.... I think it caught my eyes and I want it!" Samantha retorted, sweetly.

Hazel watched as Samantha admired the gown while her dogs kept on complementing her on how she would look so beautiful in it.

"That.... I took it first, could you give it back?" Hazel mumbled, calmly.

"Who cares! I saw it and now I want it!" Samantha said firmly.

"What right do you have to demand it back, can you even afford it?" Lucy spoke rudely.

"Yes she's so poor so how can you afford it unless you came here to steal it!" June shrieked making Samantha and Lucy to burst into a fit of laughter.

Hazel clenched her fists and bowed her head, her steps heavy as she turned away and began to walk off.

Seeing Hazel's action, Samantha angrily grabbed a fist of her hair and pulled her back as she staggered and fell on the floor.

"You bitch! You don't walk out on me when I'm talking to you!!" Samantha snapped, sharply.

"Seems like our little nerdy is angry but what can she do? What a pity" Lucy said with a pout.

"Oh... Heard you were suspended from school... It must have been hard for you and your aunt, right? " June retorted, sarcastically.

Hazel bit her lip, trying to fight back the tears which was about to well up in her eyes. She clenched her fist tight.

"Open your f*cking mouth and speak bitch!" Samantha shrieked and was about to struck Hazel on her cheek.

Hazel grabbed Samantha's hand, clutching it tightly, she bit down hard on it.

Samantha cried out as blood spilled from the wound, but Hazel refused to let go.

"Arghh!! You animal, let her go!!" Lucy shrieked. Hazel released her grip on Samantha as she fell down on the floor, sobbing pitifully.

Hazel stood up from the floor and landed a hot slap on Lucy's cheek making her to go deaf and dumb, she staggered and fell on the floor.

"Why can't you guys let me be?!!!" Hazel screamed out, angrily as tears rolled down her cheek.

June fearfully took a step back and quickly ran away from the shopping mall.

Hazel stared at Samantha who was sobbing pitifully on the floor, she felt fear gripped her.

What has she done...

But she wouldn't have done such if Samantha and her dogs hadn't pushed her to the wall!

They deserved it anyway.

Hazel quickly took the gown, paid for it and left.

The sales attendant had no idea of what had happened.
