Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 – The Birth of an Empire

Kael stood at the wide glass windows of Skyline Heights, watching the morning sun bleed across the city skyline. For the first time in years, he had woken up not to worry about overdue bills or broken appliances, but in a luxury apartment worth more than he could have ever imagined.

Yet his mind refused to rest.

The system's last message still hovered faintly in his thoughts:

[Warning: New Challenge Will Begin Soon.]

Kael knew better than to wait passively. If I keep relying only on sudden rewards, I'll stagnate. I need something bigger. A foundation.

That afternoon, he opened his laptop and started sketching ideas. BrewFi was a success, Radiance Entertainment was now under his name, and yet… they felt scattered. Like islands without a bridge.

What I need is an umbrella. My own enterprise that ties everything together.

He researched company registrations, large-scale holdings, and conglomerates. But when he saw the prices for full incorporation—legal fees, initial capital deposits, international registrations—his jaw dropped.

"Thirty million… just for the setup?" he muttered.

The figure made his chest ache. Even with the system's help, that was far too steep for now. He closed the tab reluctantly, exhaling slowly. "Not yet. I'll bide my time."

But postponing didn't mean giving up. If anything, it meant preparing better.

That night, he grabbed a notebook and began scribbling logos. Dozens of sketches later, one finally clicked—a rising phoenix wrapped around a golden crown, sharp yet elegant.

He stared at it, heart pounding. "Yes… this feels right."

At the bottom, he wrote the name:

Aurelius Group

It was bold, timeless, and powerful. A name people would remember. A name that screamed ambition.

Even if the paperwork had to wait, the dream was now alive.

The next morning, Kael called his staff into the main BrewFi office. Mia, Lila, Leo, and even the new hires squeezed into the conference room, murmuring curiously.

Kael stood before them, his expression calm but his tone firm. "We've achieved something extraordinary. Seven cafes, over half a million in sales, and now we're standing side by side with an entertainment company worth over a hundred million."

The room buzzed with shock. Some gasped, others exchanged wide-eyed glances.

Kael raised a hand. "But none of this was possible without you. Your hard work, your loyalty—it deserves recognition."

He tapped his phone, and a notification pinged across their accounts.

[Bonus Credited: $2,000 each.]

Mia's jaw dropped. "Boss—are you serious?!"

Leo laughed loudly. "I might actually buy a new bike now!"

Even Lila's eyes softened as she bowed slightly. "Thank you. Truly."

Kael's chest warmed. Money could vanish, shops could burn, but loyalty? That was priceless.

Later that week, Kael finally visited his new asset—Radiance Entertainment.

The company's headquarters stood in a sleek glass building downtown, its lobby lined with posters of dramas and idol groups. The moment he stepped inside, staff froze mid-step, whispers spreading like wildfire.

"Is that him? The new owner?"

"He's so young…"

"Wait, isn't he the one who revived BrewFi?"

Kael walked with steady steps, though inside, he marveled. Just months ago, he had been a nobody. Now, he was being stared at like a legend.

A woman in a crisp blazer approached, bowing politely. "Mr. Frost, welcome to Radiance Entertainment. I'm Hana, the current operations director. We've been expecting you."

She guided him through the building, explaining as they walked.

"Radiance manages twenty-two artists, including three top-tier celebrities whose dramas and music generate the bulk of our profits. Last year, we earned $120 million in gross revenue, with $15 million net profit. Our strength lies in fast-tracked web dramas, idol group promotions, and securing product endorsements. However—"

Her tone shifted slightly. "—we've struggled to compete with top companies for global distribution. Our artists shine regionally but lack international reach."

Kael nodded, absorbing every word. The polished practice rooms, the bustling editing suites, the endless posters—all of it was a different world from coffee and cafes.

And yet, he felt strangely at home.

At one rehearsal room, he paused as a young idol group danced with fiery energy. Sweat flew with every move, determination burning in their eyes.

Kael's heart stirred. These kids… they're just like me. Fighting for a dream, with no guarantee it'll succeed.

Hana noticed his silence. "Do you wish to meet them?"

Kael smiled faintly. "Not yet. Let them prove themselves first. I want to see who rises naturally, not who flatters the new boss."

By evening, Kael returned to Skyline Heights. He dropped his jacket on the couch, staring once again at the Aurelius logo he had designed.

Coffee. Entertainment. Soon, more industries.

He wasn't just a shop owner anymore. He was building something greater.

The city stretched endlessly beneath his feet, neon lights flickering like stars. For the first time, Kael truly believed it—he wasn't just playing the system's game.

He was rewriting the rules.

And Aurelius Group would be his weapon.
