Chapter 45 - Chapter 44

Limits of the Underworld – Lucifer's Castle – Rooftop

Sipping tea, one could see Rizevim Livan Lucifer, son of the original Lucifer, watching with a smile the magic circle before him and the insane fun that Naruto, his friend, had plunged both the human and supernatural worlds into… he was the quiet one—yet a true madman.

"Hehehehe…"

Rizevim laughed. This… this made him feel alive, and confirmed that he had chosen well in picking such a shitty friend.

Rizevim: Should I go? No… better not. I'm an enemy to both sides, hahahahaha… —he mused before bursting into laughter, paying no attention to his mother, who had undoubtedly become entangled with Naruto. That bastard dared to steal his father's wife—his own mother… He's worthy; he should have been his brother.

"Rizevim-sama, the strange magic flow originated from Sirzechs and his group forcing their escape from the underworld…"

The voice came from not far away, belonging to none other than Euclid Lucifuge, Grayfia's younger brother.

Rizevim waved dismissively.

Rizevim: Those useless ones don't matter. They were smart to escape the underworld. Azula controls almost all of it perfectly, and they'd have nowhere to hide… —he said casually. It was fortunate that the domineering little girl hadn't set her sights on the borders of the underworld, perhaps because it was far enough away and not "inhabitable" due to the toxic air.

Euclid nodded. In truth, he respected this Azula woman—and the Phoenixes—who had the courage and strength to reshape the underworld as they pleased since their rise. They were the law and followed no one. Not even the demonic council had prevailed… in fact, it had fallen and disintegrated with the Phoenixes' ascent—true demons in his view. He didn't even understand how Shalba and the others thought they had a chance.

Euclid stepped behind his King and silently observed the events unfolding in the human world, blinking in surprise at the apocalyptic battle… this brutal.

Naruto stared at Shiva as blood began running from his eyes without him even blinking.

Shiva frowned at this strange demon—so young, yet so monstrous.

"TAKE THISSSSS—!"

Zekram tried to slip past Shiva to launch his ultimate attack with a feint, only to turn to dust.

A light breeze brushed Naruto's face, and he smiled as dark markings emerged from beneath his suit, stopping at his neck.

Shiva calmly watched, sensing the dangerous atmosphere forming around the demon with that single action.

Naruto: Alright, shall we begin?… —he asked calmly, though his voice was now deeper and distorted.

Shiva did not respond as several skeletal hands rose from the ground and grabbed him.

He frowned—no skill should be able to—

Shiva blinked as his surroundings suddenly shifted and a chill crept through him. He felt no fear, but a sense of latent danger before that single, strange eye staring from the infinite darkness.

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHH—!"

A primal, feral, wrathful roar struck Shiva, freezing him for a second before he felt sudden pain across his face.

Shiva was sent flying by Naruto's fire-clad fist, and Naruto immediately pursued.

"Cruel Sun!"

BOOOOOMMMM!

A powerful explosion erupted, radiating scorching heat that forced the surrounding fighters back.

Yasaka appeared through a magic circle beside her eldest daughter, Kunou; both evaluated the situation seriously.

Yasaka: Help your sisters. —she ordered. Kunou nodded; though only ten years old, her latent power was immense.

Kunou bent forward, red energy enveloping her before she lifted her head and unleashed a terrifying roar.

GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHH—!

The bestial roar echoed, creating fierce gusts as a wave of energy descended from the sky, engulfing Kunou.

Yasaka had already leapt away, noticing her… grandmother?… fighting Leviathan.

Yasaka sweated—she had misidentified her allies.

She quickly assumed her kyūbi form, though not as impressive as her daughter's, who possessed vast demonic power.

Even mid-transformation, Kunou lunged toward the group of heroes harming her beloved sisters.

A torrent of power gathered before Kunou's muzzle, and she fired it carelessly.

FLUSSSSSSS—

BOOOOOMMMM!

A massive explosion shook the battlefield, briefly halting the rain before it resumed.

Indra clenched his jaw, glaring at the strange woman with those dangerous bones.

He leapt, dodging the bones that had already forced him to discard parts of his godly armor—its surface deteriorating rapidly upon contact. Worse yet, he couldn't get close; she was covered in bones all over her body and back. A damned Shiva—just as annoying as that bastard.

Indra felt a sudden gust behind him, turned, and received a devastating punch that caved his face inward, cracking bone courtesy of Lilith.

FLUSSSSSSS—

Indra shot across the rubble, unable to stop himself.

Kaguya vanished through a portal.

Lilith: Strange… —she muttered, observing the dark sky as rain soaked her, Dracula's severed head hanging at her hip, bound by glowing silver chains.

"THUNDER!"

Lilith disappeared to support Kaguya—Indra was no easy opponent.

Odin stared seriously at his foe—she was indeed worthy.

Odin: Amaterasu-dono… —he muttered as his spear glowed.

Amaterasu: There's no conversation. You know my connection to the underworld and where I stand. I gain nothing from your side… —she replied coldly, amber eyes analyzing every detail of Odin, waiting for an opening.

Odin frowned.

Odin: The boy committed a supernatural taboo. He revealed himself to humans and seeks to monopolize the earth. We cannot allow it—I cannot allow it. And for the past century he's been far from inactive… he is a calamity. His presence, or essence, embodies disaster, chaos, and misfortune itself. A being whose mere existence brings destruction, suffering, and imbalance wherever he sets foot. Egypt is the clearest example—not to mention why the Sahara is a desert, or the second human world war… that boy is disaster itself… —he declared. He had seen parts of the future and had observed Naruto since he took command of the underworld and confronted him with Dracula. He concluded Naruto was evil for the world—surpassing Lucifer in malice.

Odin was certain Naruto was not an entity of chaos—he didn't have the presence… but he had the essence, and the mind.

Amaterasu sneered.

Amaterasu: Isn't that fun? Better than rotting in monotony. We're giving flavor and life to the world—removing fools who dream of peace and forcing them to prove their resolve… stretching our bones and rising higher… —she said with a smile. Odin frowned, prepared to reply, but fell silent.

He admitted that, aside from being a pervert and spying on Naruto, his life was boring and pathetic—even as the father of Asgard. Trying to stop this evil made him feel alive, part of something. Deep down, he suspected he hoped Demon King Naruto would triumph and bring more chaos—just so he could try to stop him again and again.

Amaterasu scoffed. She knew this old man was a hypocrite.

The two remained motionless for a second as explosions rocked the distance.

Odin: Well, I always wanted to test myself in the ranking of the strongest… —he said as he removed the patch over an eye that should not exist.

A suffocating heat radiated from Amaterasu as the rain evaporated around her.

Both vanished.

BOOOOOMMMM!

An earthquake shook all of Japan.

GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHH—!

Acnologia roared at the strange golden fox armored in blue.

Kushina frowned, staring at the strange creature.

Madara: We can only push it back, not pierce its skin. Our energy doesn't seem to affect it… —he said seriously, his Rinnegan glowing.

Kushina, covered in the Kyūbi's cloak, nodded. She and Kurama had concluded the same thing—their power and chakra had no effect.

Madara locked eyes with Mikoto in the distance, who awaited an opening, and relayed the information.

Kyūbi: Kushina, your chains… you and Ayaka should be able to restrain it. Remember you once tied up Naruto when he asked you to demonstrate your ability… Magic and chakra are different but similar energies. Both have a core that connects with the world's energy… —he reminded her, referring to the Uzumaki hidden better than Mikoto—underground.

Kushina frowned.

Kushina: Fine, we bind it if it works… but then what? Our energy doesn't affect it—we can't kill it… —she said, frustrated by this troublesome enemy.

Kyūbi: Seal it. I sense that little Nohara girl's energy not far from here… —he replied simply, leaving Kushina stunned—she hadn't considered such a… perfect plan.

Kushina: Thank you, Kyūbi. And… sorry about the burning rock. Mito brainwashed me… —she said honestly before relaying the plan to Madara.

Kyūbi scoffed. Mito had brainwashed her… but Kushina was stubborn and wouldn't think deeply unless the situation demanded it. Now they just worked together for the greater good…

Kyūbi blinked—something in this madwoman's seal was sucking chakra, imperceptibly, but they had just made contact.

He saved that concern for later, boosting Kushina's perception to the limit; the enemy would give them no rest.

GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHH—!

Kushina released the Kyūbi cloak and dashed away as Madara moved in another direction.

Kushina: Mikoto! —she shouted as sudden golden flames engulfed Acnologia.

"AAAAAAAHHHH—!"

Acnologia roared in pain, scattering the flames and forcing Mikoto to stumble backward and leap away.

Acnologia gathered energy in his mouth and fired toward Mikoto's position.

FLUSSSSS—

BOOOOOMMMM!

The battle intensified with every passing second.

Naruto exchanged rapid blows with Shiva high in the sky. The god's four arms gave him an advantage—and Shiva had fought Naruto before, knowing his fierce and unpredictable style.

Naruto frowned, giving him no room.

Shiva's third eye glowed and Naruto vanished—only to reappear behind him, pointing a finger.

Shiva instantly teleported behind Naruto.

Naruto smiled.

"Big Bang…"

BOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM—!

A sonic wave boomed outward, growing before retracting and vanishing as reality itself rippled.

"Dangerous!"

Naruto turned upward; Shiva was staring down seriously. That attack could have swallowed everything if it had grown… a power akin to emptiness.

Naruto sighed—this enemy was truly irritating.

Naruto: How did it go again… —he muttered, moving his hands in a strange way.

Shiva frowned, analyzing the demon. All he saw in him was destruction and chaos—his past, present, and future tied to it.

Naruto: Heh… I forgot you can't summon—you only summon… —he said, amused as he stopped.

Naruto pointed at the ground.

Naruto:"Kai: Juubi." —he announced, and for some reason Shiva felt alarmed.

The ruins below glowed as a massive magic circle with the Phoenix emblem activated and great doors materialized.

BOOOOOMMMM—

MMMMM GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHH—!

A powerful explosion erupted, followed by an imposing roar that froze every fighter for a moment as strange tails emerged—and something even more bestial followed.

Shiva's eyes widened. That thing.

"Damn…"

Indra murmured from afar, shocked as the world itself synchronized with the creature drawing energy from everything.

Kaguya's eyes widened. He was much stronger than her—and still incomplete. What?

Naruto raised his hand to command the creature—but suddenly coughed blood as his magic core turned unstable.

He looked down, noticing five black rods protruding from his chest—startled. He hadn't lowered his guard.

"HAGOROMO—!"

Kaguya was the first to roar in fury, seeing the damned traitor launching a sneak attack—and indeed, at a safe distance from Naruto, stood Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, who had fired the silent strike. His rods contained no chakra or energy that could alert Naruto, but once they passed through him—

Hagoromo rapidly performed a sequence of hand seals as everyone stared in shock—except the Juubi, who, following its order, charged a massive energy sphere and hurled it at the stunned Shiva.

FLUSSSSSSS—

"CHIBAKU TENSEI!"

"Nooooo—!"

Paralyzed, Naruto could only stare in disbelief as rocks began to gather around him.
