Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Great Ethan (Sixth Watch)

"Ethan, you shouldn't act rashly!"

"You take Lyon and Ge Lei away first. Leave this demon to me!"

Watching Ethan step forward to face Deliora, Ur couldn't help but feel anxious.

Compared to Ge Lei, Ethan held a far greater place in her heart. She had even entrusted him with inheriting all of her magic in the future. There was no way she wanted anything to happen to him.

"Don't worry. I've grown much stronger. I can fight side by side with you."

Ethan didn't turn his head as he spoke. His voice remained calm, but his words carried a weight of unshakable conviction.

In that moment, a surge of magic burst from Ethan's body.

A massive Ice Sword, nearly five meters long, materialized in his hand.

Over the past four months, Ethan's strength had steadily grown.

Yet he had never faced a truly formidable opponent, so he didn't fully know what level his power had reached. But with his mastery of the freezing winds, he felt absolute confidence in maintaining control. That was why he decided to test himself here, against Deliora.

Raising the colossal Ice Sword in his grip, Ethan launched himself straight at Deliora's left eye.

"Bang!"

In an instant, the Ice Sword pierced deep into Deliora's left eye socket.

Not only that, but countless razor-sharp ice blades erupted from the wound, slicing wildly inside the demon's eye.

"Roar!"

Deliora bellowed in agony. Though it was an immortal demon, that did not mean it had lost the ability to feel pain.

The lacerations inside its eye socket tore at its nerves. The pain was unbearable.

And in the same breath, its fury erupted.

Suppressing the torment, Deliora suddenly swung its massive fist toward Ethan's position.

Ethan narrowed his eyes. His magic flared once more, and in that instant, a towering wall of ice surged up from the ground before him.

"Bang!"

Deliora's massive fist slammed into the ice wall. Cracks spread rapidly across its surface, but the barrier still held firm.

Seizing the opening, Ethan shifted straight into offense. Nearly a hundred enormous Ice Swords rose up behind him and shot forward, stabbing toward Deliora's body.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The storm of Ice Swords struck almost instantly, piercing into Deliora. Explosions of ice burst across its body, like countless blossoms of frozen flowers blooming all at once.

The force of the barrage drove Deliora backward, its massive frame dragged across the ground. Its colossal legs carved a trench nearly a thousand meters long before it finally stopped.

"Bang!"

Deliora swung its two giant arms, shattering the remaining Ice Swords in an instant.

Ethan's eyes sharpened. He would not stop here.

His magic power erupted once more.

The fragments of ice that had been falling toward the ground suddenly condensed together, merging into an Ice Sword over a hundred meters long. With a mighty swing, it slashed toward Deliora's neck.

This was the power of the Ice Emperor's Judgment complete dominion over ice and cold! The giant sword formed with incredible speed, and its strength was overwhelming.

Deliora had no time to react. The blade struck with crushing force, sending the demon tumbling across the ruins. Its immense body crashed down, leveling entire rows of houses, the earth itself groaning under the weight.

"This…"

Lyon and Ge Lei stood frozen in shock.

They were both disciples of Ur so why was Ethan so far beyond them?

Even Ur herself was momentarily stunned. She knew well that Ethan's magic resembled Ice-Make, yet its power far surpassed it. His control over ice was astonishing even shattered crystals obeyed his will, reassembling into new weapons.

But what truly shook her was the sheer volume of Ethan's magic power.

To forge nearly a hundred massive Ice Swords… the consumption alone was terrifying.

To be able to control and even reuse shattered ice crystals like that

It gave Ur a feeling deep inside.

Perhaps Ethan was already strong enough to stand on his own, to travel across the continent as an independent mage.

Still, Ur would not waste this chance to guide Ge Lei and Lyon.

"See? This is Ice-Make magic!" Ur called out. "As long as you discover your own form, you too can become this strong in the future!"

Lyon and Ge Lei nodded rapidly like chickens pecking at grain.

Watching Ethan fight, both of them felt a growing sense of admiration in their hearts.

This was the respect one naturally gave to true strength.

"Lyon, take Ge Lei and get him out of here," Ur ordered again. Then she dashed toward Ethan's position.

This battle could not be left entirely to her disciple.

Otherwise, what kind of teacher would she be if she only stood aside, useless?

That thought echoed firmly in Ur's heart.
