"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 252: Don't Say I Didn't Warn You
Draconis Yi's magic amplification now topped twentyfold. Years of relentless training had paid off—his strength and reserves were nothing short of monstrous.
Even Loki felt it. For the first time, a flicker of unease passed over the Norse god's face.
Divine power surged. Loki conjured a ring of force, the air howling as it expanded, morphing into a colossal blade of light that sliced straight for Draconis Yi.
No dodging, no hesitation. Draconis Yi's Regalia Blade flared, meeting the attack head-on.
With one swing, he cleaved Loki's divine ring in two. The split halves shot past him, carving through the distant mountains—whole ranges vanished in an instant.
The devastation left Rias and her team stunned. That kind of attack was beyond anything they could hope to withstand.
High above, the duel raged. On the ground, Saji Genshirou watched for his moment. He was the only one here who could truly support Draconis Yi, thanks to his Sacred Gear—the Black Dragon Vein, host to the Black Evil Dragon King Vritra. With it, even if his own power fell short, he could still restrain Loki.
His job: find an opening, bind Loki, and give Draconis Yi a shot at victory.
Sword met godly power, space itself tearing with every clash. Energy rippled through the void, forcing Loki to fight cautiously.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Explosions ripped through the landscape. Every slash from Draconis Yi's blade tore rifts in reality, unleashing torrents of destructive force that obliterated mountains. Loki had to pour out divine power just to keep pace.
He didn't let up. Loki's magic lashed out, a barrage of spells raining down. Draconis Yi, having already tasted their power, summoned the Divine Lament Shield, letting it orbit him in a protective haze.
The shield held, but each impact drained his reserves. Both fighters were burning through energy at a staggering rate—every move came at a cost.
Loki finally broke his silence, voice edged with grudging respect. "You're stronger than I expected. Not quite Maou-class, but leagues above those other small fry."
He frowned, sizing up Draconis Yi. Where had Sirzechs found this kid? Young, yes—but terrifyingly powerful. Annoying, too.
If Ragnarok was going to happen, Loki needed the old guard—the true Maou-class monsters—to step in. Only then could he draw out the rest of the ancient powers, spark a war, and let the world burn. But if all he faced was a prodigy like Draconis Yi, the old devils would never come out. Too much pride. Fighting the next generation, win or lose, would cost them everything. They'd never risk their reputations.
And that was exactly why Sirzechs and the others were so pleased with Draconis Yi. With him on the front lines, the elders had every excuse to stay out of it. No matter what happened, as long as Draconis Yi stood unbeaten, the old guard wouldn't dare intervene. War would stall before it began—a perfect strategy.
Loki cursed under his breath, realizing he'd been outmaneuvered. If he couldn't beat this "kid," Ragnarok was nothing but a farce.
"Annoying brat," he spat, unleashing a storm of divine lightning.
Bolts crackled through the sky, chasing Draconis Yi as he darted at full speed, lightning exploding across the horizon and kicking up clouds of dust.
Draconis Yi countered, gathering power in the Regalia Blade.
Then—his trump card.
A low hum reverberated through the sky. Above them, a vast ancient city materialized, blocking out the sun—a fortress of endless dusk. On its black walls, statues of soldiers stood in eerie silence.
Rias and the others stared, half-convinced the statues had twitched. But Draconis Yi didn't waste a glance.
He unleashed his ultimate attack.
Judgment of the Monarch.
A pillar of sword light, impossibly tall, crashed down—like a giant cleaving the world in two. Loki tried to dodge, but the blow landed square.
For a moment, everyone's hearing vanished, senses scrambled by the shockwave. The ground rolled like a stormy sea, earth torn asunder.
When the dust settled, Loki reappeared, battered and breathless, white robes shredded.
If he hadn't gone all out, he'd have been finished right there.
"Cough… cough… Well played…" Loki forced a laugh, anger and admiration mingling. He'd never taken such a beating.
Who could have guessed? Draconis Yi looked like any other high-class devil—just a kid.
Draconis Yi felt a pang of regret. A Norse Chief God wasn't so easy to kill.
Loki, now wary, waved his hand and summoned reinforcements—five giant serpents, each a clone of Midgardsormr.
"…They're mass-producing Midgardsormr now?" Rias groaned.
Draconis Yi had his hands full with Loki. Xenovia and the others were still struggling with Fenrir and its pups. The new clones only made things worse.
Loki smirked. "Let's see you handle this. Once Fenrir finishes your little friends, he'll be free to help me. Victory is inevitable."
Draconis Yi just sighed. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
His body shimmered. In the next instant, he split in two—another Draconis Yi appeared, identical in every way.
Loki stared, speechless.
