Tuesday mornings are worse than Monday mornings because you can't complain dramatically about how awful life is. Everyone expects you to deal with it.Like sorry, no I reserved the right to be bitter all week. "Do you think Mrs Marry even knows what year it is?" I whispered to Trix as we sat down in homeroom. The woman was already writhing some impossible equation on the board. "Her bun is so tight I am convinced it is cutting off circulation to her brain." Trix smirked without looking up from her Converse which were now about 10% shoes and 90% doodles. " She definitely had a pet dinosaur." I laughed a bit too hard because she turned around and gave us "the teacher's glare." I ducked my head down like I was paying attention. The class was a mix of half-asleep heads propped on fists and the one kid in the front practically drooling over every word like this is Harvard. Basically a normal morning. Except for him in the back sitting a little too straight, too quiet, Dorianth. I wasn't going to think about him but it's hard not to notice someone who looks like they have never actually been in a classroom before. Still, I forced myself to ignore him. Weird new kid not my problem. I have bigger problems like the test I forgot to study for. And the fact that Trix had convinced me to go to cheer tryouts with her. Well, at least I thought I was going to be ignoring him until saw his pencil roll of his desk but right as it was going to hit the ground it kind of just hovered there. Like it paused only for a second nobody saw it but me. I really need to start getting more sleep. I am having hallucinations. " Hello....Hello...Aurora." "Yea also, ew don't call me that." Sorry Rori you weren't listening and I didn't know how to get your attention." "It's fine but it's Rori ok." "Yea" Everyone has called me Rori since elementary school. Except the teachers ever since I started high school all the teachers have made it there mission to make my life miserable and call me Aurora. By now I have stopped trying to correct them. "Sooo are you still going to cheer tryouts with me." "Yes" I say annoyed that I still have to do that. "YAY" She said happily as we headed to are next class. "I hate walking through crowded halls." I say while holding on to Trix's backpack so I don't get lost in the hall. By the time we made it to lunch the day was almost over. I had a salad with chicken and a bag of chips. Trix sits down with a full plate of pastry's. She has cheese cake, banana bread, ice cream, and a chocolate chip cookie. "Wow this is lunch not a bakery." "I guess you don't want any then." "Hey I never said that." We finish lunch and the rest of are classes. Me and Trix got to homeroom and started getting ready for cheer tryouts. We got dressed and head to the gym. "Come on Rori it's not that bad." Trix says dragging me by the wrist. "It's like voluntarily joining a cult." I mutter. "A sparkly over preppy cult." She rolled her eyes. "You promised." "I did against my better judgement." The first few tryouts were a blur of high kicks, sharp claps, fake smiles. Every girl a copy of the other. I slouched on the bleachers pretending I was invisible, until Trix shoved me toward the mat. "Go." She said. I wasn't planning on actually trying out but here I was in the middle of the gym facing a row of bored judges. My brain screamed don't trip, don't trip, don't trip. Which of course ment I tripped pretty much immediately. The world tilted say sneakers snagged on the mat, sending me falling toward the ground like a vary clumsy toddler. But before I could hit the ground someone caught me. Strong, fast. I blinked dazed, into a pair of strangers bright eyes. It was Dorianth. Has he been here the whole time? He helps me up and let go of me. "Thank you." I say while brushing off my knees. "No problem." With that he walks away and sits on the bleachers. Trix jogged over to me fighting back a laugh. "WOW you didn't even last five seconds." I laughed "Okay did you see that he was like a ninja." " Or maybe he just had fast reflex's." "Right totally normal spider man just happens to be sitting in the bleachers of our high school gym." Trix smirks "Or maybe spider man thinks you're cute." I groan "Kill me now." But it was all so unusual he moved to fast almost like it didn't happen. Or I'm crazy and he was behind me the whole time. I think I just need more sleep definitely...
