Archival work is grueling as always. Same thing, learning about an old world that nobody cares about. Genuinely useless. They have me in A.HS 22 (Archive History Sector), though it's nothing about history at all. Just about "how great Archon is" and "how much they have done for us". They have me on the Great Famine of '47 this week, but it's not about the panic. It's all just data points now—supply chains, resource misallocations, a series of graphs and algorithms. The anger and the grief have been scrubbed out of the record, replaced by a neat little bow of "optimal function." It's not history; it's propaganda. And my job is to file it away as if it's the truth. Bullshit to me. On top of that, they give me a journal to write my findings in. Like I'm going to find anything. They all wrote the history anyway. They're just waiting for me to write my little "I am content" note at the bottom. But they can wait forever.
Maybe one day I'll be useful.
