When barley got home, she explainedvall that happened to Rose, as expected. Rose asked to see the things he got for her and she became infuriated but did not show it. She faked a smile and forced herself to sleep.
The next day, barley woke up, took her bath and did her other regular routines and headed downstairs after getting dressed in the cloth Max got for her . She wore a blue boyfriend jean with black sneakers matching with a black shirt. Max arrived and knocked at the door while waiting for someone to open up.
"Hi" Rose said after opening the door, smiling awkwardly. Max gets astonished by the beauty that radiated from barley. He open his mouth wide agape and was loss of words. "Let's go" he managed to say. "You didn't even compliment me" barley said while getting into the car." I got speechless and was short of words, your beauty blows me away barley. Max said feeling more confident than before.
Max and barley did not have a specific destination but they decided to explore the city. After the duo finished their 'Dora the explorer ' session, they stopped at a restaurant which Max had earlier booked. After their order was placed, barley heard a romantic song playing in the background, but was it the background?
Barley felt that the song was too close to be heard like that and she faced back with a surprise. She saw the string quartet, she covered her mouth with great astonishment as Max knelt down bringing out a ring for her. "I know it's only been some few days since I've met you but I know my heart chooses you and will forever choose you. Honey, will you be my girlfriend."
Barley was far from shock as she was not expecting this, she had no affection for this so-called guy who claims to love her, "OMG! what should I say?"she bit her nails while she murmurs.
She thought of an idea and executes it, she extends her hands, withdrew the hands and helped Max get up from his position. "Let's settle this later, can you just put the ring on my finger, I will take it off after we live this place" barley whispered to Max. Max eyes widened, this was far from his imagination, he had thought barley would accept his proposal with a happy heart. "Hmmm, okay" he managed to say.
After they left the restaurant, barley removed the ring and gives it back to Max, " I'm not ready." She said while Max begins to ask her series of questions of which she answers with a "NO!". "Seriously, I'm not ready, can you give me a little more time, I'll take my leave. Thanks for today" barley said as she takes her leave.
Barley told Rose of what she faced unaware of Rose jealousy. Rose condemned Max and told her not to ever agree to the proposal. Barley became confused because she knew that whether she accepts or not, the fact still remains, she does not like Max. "Its just a show, not real" she concluded.
Rose became angry and yelled at her, " Don't you ever be with Max, don't like him!." " What does my liking him have to do with you, why are you getting all worked up " Barley returns back to her.
"You're stubborn, get the hell out of my house!." "Excuse me! your house!, remember who the owner here is?."Barley said snapping her fingers. " Then I'm going to leave 'cause I can't stand you right now" Rose blasted back at Chloe ( no longer barley).
"Then go, I don't care whatever the duck you do!." Chloe said turning her back to Rose. Rose immediately walked out of the room and slammed the door.
As Rose got out of the house, she headed straight for Max's house. She knocked continuously on the door as her anger hadn't subside. The door swung open and Rose was taken aback by an handsome figure of Max. "Um....how may I help you?." Max asked. Rose fell silent and didn't reply him. Max looked at Rose intensively and asked, "Hello! I said, how may I help you?." Rose snapped out of her daydream and said, "oh.....um, I'm Chloe, oh....or as you know her....." Rose quoted and said "Barley's friend." Max gave her a surprising look and said , "what do you mean?." Rose smirked and said, "I have something that I think you would find very interesting." Max hesitated and said ''come in.''
When they both settled in the living room, Rose poured out everything about Chloe like a running tap. She told Max about the death of his brother caused by Chloe's aunt, how Chloe took down Eclytal and inherited the Roger's wealth and faked her identity so as to avenge the death of her parents on Max even though the death of her parents was not caused by him but his father, Alex. Max was taken aback by this revelation and didn't believe Rose. Rose still didn't give up, she went further to show him the document of the investigation carried out by Chloe and the receipt of the transformation she had. Max didn't have any excuse not to believe Rose now. His mouth was wide agape and he didn't even know what to say. Max was so stunned that Rose had to snap her fingers twice in order to bring him back to reality.
" From these documents which I showed you, you've learnt you also want to avenge your dead father and that is why I chose to fake her life so as to get to you without you knowing she is the niece of your father's killer." Rose said. Max silently turned his head to look at Rose and said "And why.... are you doing this. I mean, you said she is your friend, aren't you betraying her right now?." Rose adjusted her sitting position, shrugged and said " I've my personal reasons. Anyways, why are you asking me that. Aren't you supposed to be down on your knees, thanking me for saving you from that snake that calls herself ''Barley". "If you think about it... I'm actually your hero."Rose giggled. Max gave her a faint smile and said"Thank you." Rose stood up from her seat majestically like she had just conquered a beast and said "you're welcome." Max walked Rose to the door and bade her goodbye.
