As Chloe sat in her dimly lit study, pouring over the documents and research she had gathered on the Roger's family in Connection with Eclytal, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. She glanced around the room, but there was no one there. Shrugging it off, she refocused on her work. Suddenly, her phone buzzed. It was a text from an unknown number; "meet me at the old warehouse at midnight. Come alone." Chloe heart skipped a beat. Who could be sending her these mysterious messages? She thought about ignoring it, but her curiosity got the better of her.
That night, Chloe made her way to the warehouse, her heart racing with anticipation. As she entered the dimly lit building, she saw a figure waiting for her in the shadows. "Who are you." Chloe demanded trying to keep her voice steady.
The figure stepped forward, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes, I'm someone who knows the truth about your parents' death."she said, her voice low and mysterious. Chloe's eyes narrowed"what do you know?." The woman smiled. I know that Max is not what he seems. He's been playing you all along, Chloe. And I can prove it."
Chloe's mind reeled as the woman handed a folder filled with documents. As she scanned the content, her eyes widened in shock.
"What does this mean?."Chloe asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The woman's smile grew wider. "It means you are in grave danger, Chloe. And I'm the only one who can help you."
As Chloe got back home, she couldn't stop thinking about what the woman has told her, she thought about sharing it with Rose but remembered how Rose had betrayed her. Chloe called up to Rose, "Rose, can you do me a favor" Chloe said her voice with a hint of anger. Rose felt the surge of anger within Chloe and behaved in a friendly manner to suppress her anger. "Rose, I'm not in for your sweet gestures anymore, will you please leave my home and go somewhere else."Chloe said. Rose felt like she was daydreaming and blasted back at Chloe, "I thought we talked about this before, why should I leave our house!?". "What did you just say now", 'our' Chloe quoted. "I mean aren't I your friend."Rose replied chloe in her usual sweet tone. "I was your friend, past tense so please let's part ways here today " Chloe said. "What!!" Rose replied fuming with anger. "Yes leave my house, you think I don't know about how you went ahead to pour my secret out to Max, you sly bitch". Chloe said ready to slap Rose at any moment.
"He..y, what do you mean?, I poured everything out to Max?, I didn't even go to Max, why are you saying this, you're hurting my feelings Chloe ." Rose said trying to force tears out of her eyes. "Still playing dumb, Max called me and told me everything, will you stop denying this and get your ass off my property. Chloe blasted back at Rose. "Fine, you caught me, do you know why I did that? I hated the fact that you had Max and everything other things, I was jealous so please" Rose said to Chloe. Chloe knew that she was saying the truth as she saw it in her face, "I knew it all along, I knew it was jealousy and thank God you admitted it yourself so..." Chloe said pointing to the door.
Chloe with an urge of determination finally chased Rose out of her Rose and looked forward to the days ahead.
