Slush—
A gust of wind and sand swept through the desert night.
From the shifting shadows, a black-haired figure with crimson eyes emerged silently.
Whoosh!
A flutter of wings echoed from the night sky.
A young blonde girl with twin ponytails descended from above, her bat-like wings folding neatly into her back as she landed.
"Mia, don't we need to hurry up at night?" the blonde girl asked in a childish tone.
Mia's crimson pupils narrowed slightly. She looked down at the petite girl who barely reached her chest and replied coolly, "You don't understand. I haven't been back for four years. Since I finally have the chance, I have to come back and take a look."
"Hey, you catwoman!" the blonde girl puffed her cheeks, placing her hands on her waist. "The look you gave me—are you despising my height?"
"You're overthinking, Carmilla," Mia said, turning her head indifferently.
