Carrying a bundle of firewood in her arms, Agne Moon followed beside Luciel, her crimson hair swaying as her curious eyes darted left and right.
"Otherwise, what did you think it was like?" Luciel asked, glancing sideways at the lively girl walking beside him.
"I heard from the hunting team that traveling at night is dangerous—that there are always beasts attacking people."
Agne Moon tugged at the rope slung over her shoulder. She wasn't carrying anything heavy, but the rough rope still made her shoulder ache a little.
Behind them, Alec walked in silence. When he heard her words, the corner of his mouth twitched.
Two fierce beasts were clearing the road ahead—what danger could there possibly be?
"It really is dangerous to travel at night," Luciel said solemnly. "You'd better not do it again in the future."
