Chen Xi didn't plan to stay here for long. He knew these people lacked water and food. He half-squatted on the ground, sensing how far the groundwater was from the surface.
Then he looked up at the scorching sun and took a deep breath. Suddenly, in one area, he clenched his fist and struck.
Through the tattered houses, many people looked on.
Their eyes fixed on him.
They were uneasy, yet there was also a faint excitement.
Perhaps this person could change their lives.
Because of Chen Xi, the underground water surged upward.
Chen Xi moved quickly, not expecting any help from those whose bodies were so frail they could barely take a step.
He handled everything on his own.
When the first person staggered toward Chen Xi, their eyes wide with shock and disbelief, they cupped their hands and drank the water directly.
The water was sweet, far different from the bottled water Chen Xi had given them before—pure and refreshing.
At first, the thin man thought he must be mistaken. But now he realized it was real.
He couldn't help but call out to others still watching, and one by one, they emerged from their houses.
Some sensitive individuals even broke into tears.
This was a scene they had only ever dreamed of—and now it was happening.
Chen Xi was like a savior to them.
"Thank you!"
"Thank you so much!"
They all bowed to Chen Xi, expressing their gratitude.
Chen Xi remained silent for a moment, then left enough food for them to survive a month. Only then did he speak:
"I've left you a month's supply of food. During this time, I'll arrange for people to come by. After that, someone will guide you on what to do next. Don't worry too much."
Knowing their future was no longer hopeless, they were already content.
Again, a chorus of thank-yous filled the air.

Some wore sharp, neat suits. They came from all walks of life.
"Help—"
"Please save me."

Chen Xi didn't pause, looking left and right, until he reached the deepest part of the prison. There, in special-material cells, were some mutants.
Though not in despair, the mutants appeared shaken.
When Chen Xi appeared, surprise and caution flashed in their eyes.
"Who are you? Why are you here? We've never seen you before."
They looked at him, puzzled, but soon their gazes darkened.
"Are you working with him?"
"Who… who is he?"
Chen Xi raised an eyebrow, not understanding.
They didn't answer, whispering among themselves instead.
At that moment, as no one knew where Chen Xi had come from or what he intended, a woman in an elegant long dress emerged from among the mutants.
"Everyone, don't be afraid. I've seen this person before."
Many looked disheveled or injured, yet she appeared pristine, as if newly captured.
"Can someone explain what's going on?" Chen Xi continued. "I don't know who this 'he' you speak of is, but clearly, I am not working with him."
"You are Chen Xi, right? The one who freed the mutants and promoted harmony between humans and mutants."
"So this is the Chen Xi Anna was talking about? We really missed a lot, but why are you here?"
Though Anna confirmed his identity, others still remained wary.
Anna approached the cells closely.
"Please save us. We don't know what that man wants, but he captured us here. He took many ordinary people and many mutants. Every day, people disappear, never to be seen again. I don't want to end up like them…"
Her eyes were sorrowful, and her anxiety was palpable.
They didn't want to die this way.
"Don't worry. I'll save you."
Chen Xi spoke as he placed his hand on the prison bars.
A strong electric current surged through his body, enough to incinerate a person instantly.
Chen Xi's body trembled slightly. For a moment, he couldn't speak.
He furrowed his brows and raised his hand to the bars, ready to act, when suddenly an overwhelming pressure pressed down on him, immobilizing him completely.
Chen Xi shifted his gaze and saw a massive silver figure appear.
It had no eyes, no hair, entirely wrapped in unknown silver material.
Each step shook the ground, creating a sense of dread.
Chen Xi's breathing quickened.
His luck had run out—he had encountered the Destroyer.
