Chapter 3 - Chapter 3- The Stagnant Sea

In the closed doors of the world, Abigail stood there. Helplessness was written all over her. She didn't want to go back to her whole life turmoil. She was afraid she would land back in that suffering.

"You would never know what awaits your future if you do not try once. A thousand miles is worth nothing if you can't even take a step in it." The voice echoed.

Abigail just stared at the young version of herself. Unable to speak. She just wanted to be alone; there should be no one to toy with her emotions or even torture her.

"Even if I were to be reborn I'd kill myself on the same day," Abigail said. She was determined not to go back.

In the pack...

Kimberly sat on her mini sofa. She just rested her head and was drowned in her dark memories. She had not expected Abigail not being around to have such a large effect on her.

Kimberly was once a mother of two and the happiest in the pack because her family was living the life she dreamed of. Her mate loved her. Everything about them was going smoothly.

As the saying goes, not all happy beginnings last happily. And now she was facing it. Her love had caused a lot. And now, even her son could not bear the sight of her.

"I just pray you wake up soon," she whispered as tears cascaded down her eyes. It seemed like a never-ending stream...

"Luna, the Alpha lost consciousness some hours ago and the doctor needs you to come around," the maid said, her tone filled with distress. She was breathing heavily.

"Can this day get any worse?" Kimberly broke completely. Her tears finally dropped profusely.

"Luna?" The maid quickly rushed to help her up. "You don't look good," she said.

Luna Kimberly was far more than not good. She was going through a lot already. And bad news came right at the worst moment. "I can walk," she said. Getting to her feet, she dashed out of the room.

"Mike, what is happening?" Kimberly asked as soon as she got into the room. Her tears were streaming down her eyes. And it was like she would faint any time soon.

"Luna Kimberly, the case seems unknown. Let's just assume the same thing happened to both of them. But why?" Mike said.

Immediately, Kimberly lost her balance, staggering a bit before regaining her posture. The tears she was trying to hold back continued pouring.

"Who is the other person?" she asked with a shaky voice.

"Abigail!" Mike said. And before he could continue any more, Tyler came in.

Amidst the rage, Kimberly was not able to control herself anymore. She took both her heels and threw them directly towards Tyler.

Thankfully, Tyler had good reflexes; he dodged them fast. But as soon as those heels collided with the wall, they easily broke through it.

"Holy shit!" All the audience in the room gasped except for Kimberly and her son.

"What happened, Tyler?" she asked. Her voice cracked. And her hands and feet shook seriously with rage.

Tyler kept quiet, watching her with his mouth closed. He knew all this would happen. He just needed to maintain things and the angry mama would not tear him apart.

"I rejected him, and all of a sudden he started convulsing," Tyler explained.

Kimberly stood frozen on the spot. She just wished for the earth to swallow her alive.

Immediately, she ran out of the room. Transforming into a big brown wolf, she ran as fast as she could, wanting to escape reality. Maybe things would have changed before she came back.

As she ran through the woods, dark memories flooded her mind. And the pain shot through her veins. If a seer had told her her life would be like hell in disguise, she would have said it is a curse. However, it is all happening.

Her love for her mate made her neglect her pups. The mate she loved caused all her pains. Her daughter was gone. Her daughter-like figure was in a coma. Her son hated her. Now, he was also in a coma. When would tragedy and negative things end in her family?

As she ran, she didn't realize she had crossed borders into another pack; now she was in great danger. Would she escape? This all remained in the hands of the unknown...

---

Abigail sat still; her younger version was gone, leaving only her in the midst of the clouds. She was in deep thoughts. There was no one to cheer her up. And she was afraid of what would happen if she went back.

"No one would have succeeded if they were afraid, you know?" the voice echoed. It was the woman's voice.

"And no one would survive if you were always tortured," Abigail said.

"You are right. But it's also better to control the brain and mind. Because the mind and brain control survival instinct and fear," the voice echoed. "Thinking about survival and not taking risks would keep you stagnant," it continued.

"Being stagnant would keep you alive," Abigail said. She was blinded by fear. And things weren't going well with her.

"You are wrong," the voice echoed. "The creator made the possibility of death. Everyone will die if not by accident; you will die by illness. Unless you are a vampire. Even they die by illness and lack of blood for survival," the voice echoed. It was surely getting tired of Abigail's foolishness.

"Then I will stay here until the creator comes to take me out of the world," Abigail said.

She was not willing to go back to that foolish world. She would find a way to always get rid of all the spirit's advice and she would live here until she made it.

"Abigail, you are making things hard for me, you know?" the voice echoed one more time. It was evident that it was getting angry.
