Chapter 6 - Chapter 6- the bombshell

As soon as Kimberly got home she met Abigail sitting in the darkest part of her room. But the most awestruck thing was that she was somewhat glowing. But why was this happening?

"Abigail?" As soon as Kimberly called her the glowing stopped. She wanted to ask about it so badly. But, she decided against it.

"Luna, you are here." Abigail stood up quickly to acknowledge her presence by bowing curtly.

"How are you girl?" She asked.

"I am fine, your highness." Abigail said.

"I am so sorry I am late. Come check this out. I got you something to eat." Kimberly said. She immediately placed the tray on the table. And as she opened the plate cover a mouth watering smell filled the room.

Abigail sat down before lovingly digging into the food. "It's delicious." Abigail said.

Kimberly locked eyes on Abigail's hair. She wondered if that was Abigail's real hair." Did you dye your hair before, or is it its natural color?" She asked.

"That's my hair right from birth." Abigail said. It was the first time she was feeling the warmth of a mother. "Mother, if I leave, would you come to find me?" She asked.

The question pierced through Kimberly really hard. She wasn't expecting her to call her mom." I would look for you." Kimberly said.

Abigail went quiet for a while. She had planned on leaving. Ready to leave that luxurious life in the city. Thankfully she had lived her first eighteen years in the human world. Life there was not hard anymore. She had good results enough to get employed by a high-ranked company.

"What if I don't want you to look for me?" She asked a poignant question.

"Then let me know where you would be. In order for my mind to be at ease." Kimberly answered. It was clear enough that she didn't understand Abigail's meaning.

"That will be the next option when the time comes." Abigail said with a smile on her face.

"Be safe." Kimberly said standing up to fix Abigail's rough hair....

---

Kimberly sat in her room, her mind swirling. She might have said nothing when she heard Abigail ask about leaving. But, that was what battled with her mind even now.

But then, something struck her mind. And she quickly remembered the guy that saved her. Why did he save her? If he wanted to do so, why come in a mysterious way.

"Who are you?" She whispered to herself. She loved doing that in every situation like this one.

She stood up from her couch, strode onto the balcony. The moonlight was soft. It was shady. Despite being a half moon, it was a perfect one.

Suddenly, a growl from behind her made her stiffen. She became highly alert. And learning from her former self, she had made sure her dagger was always by her side. For safety purposes. And she was right.

Is this an assassination? She asked herself. Her mind was on Abigail....

But as soon as she turned, she paused, and the guy in front of her burst out in laughter." You should be calm. Mom not every moment is a war." Tyler said.

He is the beta of the pack. But he was also like family to the royals. So, he practically calls Kimberly his mom. And might call her Luna amidst the crowd.

"Don't try that when I am not in the pack. Or in the mood to play." She smirked.

"Glad to see you laugh once more." He said.

"I should be." She said.

"What's happening? You don't look good." Tyler said.

"How's Byron?" Kimberly asked.

"He's fine. Just resting his brain before I left the room." He said.

"I wanted to ask you for a favor." Kimberly said.

"Anything for you Luna." He said.

"Although, I am well aware that you are in love with Byron. And he also loves you. But, the moon goddess has now intervened. I want you to..." She said...

"I understand you, yes, I am also well aware that Abigail is his mate. But, I don't want to leave him. I am sorry." He said.

"Okay. I can't interfere anyway. But I need you to convince Byron to reject Abigail. You can take him for yourself. But, let him reject Abigail. The girl's suffering..." Kimberly said.

"I..." He didn't complete his sentence...

---

Later in the morning, the whole pack erupted in chaos. Byron, their Alpha was going haywire. He was not in control of himself at all and things were going in a wrong way.

Abigail was said to have disappeared. She was nowhere to be found. And it was having a lot of effect on him. This news was overwhelming.

Tyler tried all his best to pacify him. But, all his work went in vain. He had not expected the outcome of the things he did. And now not even he knew the place where she had gone.

"Byron calm down we are gonna find her." Tyler said trying his best to coax him.

"How do you want me to calm down?" He yelled. "You just sit there doing nothing." Byron said.

He was furious." Guards!!!" Tyler yelled. Almost immediately, the guards came running. Things were in chaos. "Search the whole pack. I need you to find that white haired girl." Byron said...

Kimberly sat in her room her world was in chaos. She just sat there unable to move. 'She is gone.' Her wolf said from within.

'I thought she would tell me about what, and where she'd go or be. I was not around her. I missed when she was around.' Kimberly thought. Her heart was filled with cracks.

Tears streamed down her eyes. Where did this girl go? Where could she be?

That's one hell question she had no answers to. She had thought she would be leaving soon. And now things had come to this what would she do? Could things ever be worthwhile for her? She just prays that Abigail is okay.
