Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- Will she come back

She just sat there in the hospital waiting room. It had been three days now, and Abigail was not responding to treatment. She showed no sign of waking up. Or even being close...

Behind the closed doors of her mind, she stood there watching. Life was really not as she had thought. She didn't want to go back. And even if she did, she prayed to return to the day they first met. At least, maybe fate would forgive her and let her live.

"Remember what I told you, that every failure of yours is a new beginning." The voice echoed through the dark. It paused for a moment, allowing Abigail to sink her words in.

"Who are you?" Abigail said shakily. Her tone was calm, but the pain hidden beneath was noticeable.

"That's not important. Why I am here is the question." The voice echoed.

Abigail stared at the blank space for a while, then she said, "Alright, why are you here?"

"Come back, Abigail. I need you. We need you." The voice echoed. It was something Abigail had never thought of. Who could need her in this kind of situation?

Back in the normal world, Kimberly watched as tears cascaded down Abigail's cheek. She was perplexed. This one miracle rekindled her hope tenfold. She now had hope that Abigail would wake up. And that it would be soon.

Elsewhere, Byron sat in his office, reminding himself of all that he had done to her. How he had mistreated her. The worst part of it was raping her. After all was said and done, he was finally reflecting on his mistakes.

As his pride had grown larger than him, he had not even set foot in the hospital to check on her. He just sat there. It was already getting to be too much.

He wasn't concentrating any longer, and he just couldn't understand anything. Only thanks to Tyler, his Beta, was he able to complete the tasks at hand within these three days.

Tyler was right. The meeting had taken place minutes ago. While it was going on, Byron was asked some questions about what he thought, but he just nodded at everything. He didn't process the questions before answering them.

"You are not yourself at all," Tyler said.

Byron leaned in to kiss Tyler, but Tyler unexpectedly tilted his head slightly away. "I can't continue with this, you know? You have your mate already," he said. He loved Byron, but he couldn't do it anymore. Byron needed to accept his mate.

Unknown to Tyler, his rejection only made Byron angrier and more headstrong about dealing with Abigail after she woke up. He was sure he had no reason to accept her. He did not need a woman like her. He even planned to taint her reputation by announcing her loss of virginity the night before.

As Byron was about to stand up, a striking pain surged through his body. At that moment, Isabella entered the room. "Argh!"Byron grunted, falling back into his chair.

Strangely, afterwards, his body started convulsing. Moments later, he fell to the floor. Tyler, who was just staring at that time, realized the danger and immediately ran forward to help Byron.

Meanwhile, Isabella stood there watching and wondering how and what had happened. One more question popped up in her mind: 'Why did it happen?' To her, these were all the questions she needed answers to.

"Bella, call the pack doctor, now!" Tyler yelled. He was terribly worried about him.

---

Elsewhere, in the hospital, Abigail's body also started convulsing, which caught Kimberly off guard. She yelled for a doctor to come in. Just in time, the doctor came running.

The hospital became a world of kneeling wolves as a result of Kimberly's power. Her anxiety was causing a powerful effect on her behalf. Only those she needed were able to move.

As the doctor ran a check-up on her, his brow furrowed as if he had found something he could not understand. "Luna, this is a pivotal state and the most perplexing. I am unable to decipher the reason why this happened. Because she is totally fine," the old man stated.

Hearing what he said, Kimberly sighed in relief. Unknown to her, the same thing was happening to her son...

---

Behind the closed doors of her mind, Abigail stood there, not moving an inch. Her eyes were void of tears. It was as if her hopes had been rekindled. But things were not that easy to shake off because of a mere voice hidden in the clouds.

"You could never need a person like me. I am worthless," Abigail said. Years and days of torture had made her sink into the darkest part of herself.

Although this unknown presence was trying to talk her out of it, she wasn't the type to agree easily. "Abigail, you are a strong girl with that power in you. You must not give up. At least, I never gave up on you," the voice echoed.

Out of the blue, her younger self appeared out of nowhere. "Your fall is your first breakthrough," the girl said.

"My fall is my first breakthrough," Abigail repeated in a shaky voice. She was deterred from going back to that world of sorrow...

---

Back in the normal world, Abigail had stopped convulsing a long time ago. But Kimberly could not shake the feeling that something was wrong somewhere. She just prayed for Abigail to come back to her.

"Mike, will she ever come back to us?" Kimberly said.

Her voice was filled with uncertainty and pain. She had thought things would go well back then. And unfortunately, the innocent girl was suffering for her mistakes.

Mike stared at Kimberly, he had not seen his Luna this broken. And now things has become tough to tackle go her it seems.

" Kim, things will be okay. She would come back. At least let us hope a miracle will happen." He said calmly. His tone was subtle. He left after a deep sigh.

' Kimberly keep calm. I am sure she will come back to us...' Her wolf sighed.
