Chapter 227 - Chapter 227 Scales of the Earth Guardian

In the Eternal Battlefield, Kvaldir came in waves, and died in waves. However, after thousands of years of accumulation, Hela had created at least tens of thousands of Kvaldir, and they would not be depleted anytime soon.

It was just that, if the depletion continued like this, the Kvaldir would eventually all die out.

Hela's expression was calm as she watched Imiron flee before her, "Useless, you've disappointed me too much!"

Imiron's face was stiff; as a king, when had he ever suffered such an insult? But now he had nowhere else to go. If he angered Hela again, she would probably kill him right now.

"My Lord, those liches are powerful and very difficult to kill."

"Useless is useless!"

Hela was furious, but Imiron was telling the truth. Thinking of this, Hela took out a sword and shield, and presented it to Imiron, "Take it, it will give you the ability to kill liches."

Imiron looked at the sword and shield with confusion, "This is...?"

"This is a shield made from the scales of the Earth Guardian Neltharion, imbued with his magic, enough to withstand the liches' spells."

Made from the Earth Guardian's Scale?

Imiron was overjoyed. He knew Neltharion; he was the leader of the Guardian Dragons. He was powerful and mighty, possessed the power of the earth, and his scales had extremely strong protective capabilities.

Taking the sword and shield in his hand, Imiron's confidence soared. He turned and returned to the battlefield, charging towards the liches.

The Earth Guardian's Scale blocked all of the liches' spells, and Imiron swung his sword horizontally, directly cutting off a row of liches at the waist.

The liches were stunned for a moment, then cast spells at Imiron even more fiercely.

Facing countless ice shards, Imiron remained unfazed. He forcefully pushed the shield forward, then stepped forward, and with another sword swing, cut down another row of liches.

Watching the liches, who were so formidable just moments ago, fall like grass before him, filled Imiron with overflowing confidence.

"Come on! Keep going! Let me see what else you've got!"

Nidiir coldly watched Imiron, directly answering him with her actions. An Arcane shock hit Imiron in the chest, knocking him to the ground.

Imiron scrambled to his feet, holding the shield in front of him, blocking the incoming magic. He sneered, "Since you're looking for death, then I'll grant it to you."

He suddenly jumped up, landing among the liches. Wielding his greatsword, he instantly cleared out the surrounding liches.

Letting out a battle cry, Imiron fought with increasing ferocity, quickly nearly wiping out the two hundred liches.

He arrogantly looked at Nidiir, knowing that she was the leader of these liches. He deliberately avoided attacking Nidiir, wanting to kill these liches one by one right in front of her.

With another sword swing, he finished off the last standing lich.

Imiron triumphantly stared at Nidiir, "Now, it's your turn!"

Nidiir remained expressionless, her soul not even fluctuating. She simply looked at Imiron coldly, gently waving the Twilight Flow in her hand. Streams of water appeared, lifting the fallen liches one by one, reassembling their bodies.

Then, the Twilight Flow in the liches' hands glowed with a blue light, which infused into their bodies, and their bodies moved again.

They raised their staffs at Imiron, unleashing an overwhelming barrage of magic.

"Ah--"

Imiron was caught off guard, his soul weakened once more.

He activated the protective energy of the Earth Guardian's Scale, staring in disbelief at the liches who had risen from the dead.

How was this possible?

Nidiir curled her lips in disdain. This guy was very strong, but a bit slow-witted. If liches were so easy to kill, they wouldn't be called liches.

Although Imiron was a bit slow-witted, he still managed to delay Nidiir's program.

Mejia watched from afar, feeling that this situation was not sustainable. He immediately led his unit to provide support, waving the tidal scepter and attacking Imiron.

However, the defense of the Earth Guardian's Scale was a bit beyond Mejia's expectations. Imiron always managed to block the most concentrated magical attacks. And after understanding that liches were difficult to kill, Imiron no longer sought speed. After knocking down a lich, he would deliver several more sword strikes, and only after the lich's body lost its soul energy would he move on to attack the next lich.

Mejia frowned. If Imiron continued to stall, Hela would have no idea how much more preparation she had made.

After some thought, he sent someone back to Hovswald to report the situation to Gale.

After Gale heard the lich's report, he immediately knew that Imiron was using the Earth Guardian's Scale. The Earth Guardian's Scale was forged by the Vrykul who had stolen Neltharion's scales, and it carried the divine power of the Earth Guardian, which was the power of the Titans. Due to the hierarchy of power, the Earth Guardian's Scale was a tier higher than other artifacts, second only to Titan artifacts like the pillars of creation.

Gale had many artifacts in his hand capable of breaking through the Earth Guardian's Scale. Besides the pillars of creation, there was also the eternal spear.

He never let the eternal spear leave his side; it was a symbol of his kingship. As for the pillars of creation, he could lend it for use.

Thinking of this, he waved his hand and summoned Draksa, handing him the hammer of Kaz'goroth.

"Go in quietly, use it to strike Imiron's shield, and once his equipment is disabled, return immediately."

Draksa was excited; he knew the power of the hammer of Kaz'goroth.

Following the lich through the portal, Draksa tried to remain inconspicuous. He quietly arrived at the Eternal Battlefield, blended in with the liches, and slowly approached Imiron.

Mejia noticed Draksa's arrival and immediately intensified his spellcasting.

Imiron had no choice but to raise his shield for protection. His vision was obscured, and it was a while before he felt the spells stop.

Slowly lowering his shield, he saw a Kaldorei leap high into the air, wielding a hammer and smashing it down at him. The hammer carried a powerful aura that made him feel dangerous.

Imiron raised his shield again, blocking the hammer's attack.

Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he watched in horror as the Earth Guardian's Scale actually cracked open, its fragments flying outwards.

Draksa, having succeeded with one blow, immediately raised his hammer again and struck Imiron's body.

"Ah--"

In a scream, Imiron transformed into soul energy and dissipated into the sky.

Mejia walked over, cast a spell to gather the fragments of the Earth Guardian's Scale, and handed them to Draksa, "Go back and report!"

Draksa nodded, and left the Netherworld with the fragments.

He presented the fragments to Gale, who said with some regret, "Even if it's reforged, its protective capability will decrease."

Despite saying so, Gale still used the hammer of Kaz'goroth to reforge the Earth Guardian's Scale. Even if its protective capability decreased, it was still an artifact shield. Perhaps it couldn't deal with enemies like Hela, but it had no problem dealing with mortals.
