Gale was somewhat surprised. Had he just killed a loa like that?
It wasn't just Gale who felt at ease; everyone involved in the battle felt the same.
Maiev: "This loa doesn't seem very strong!"
After finishing off the last Frostmane Troll, Carlos came up to Gale and said, "This loa couldn't have just become a loa, could he?"
Shim-Eba: I thank you all...
"It seems..."
Gale largely agreed with them, but the power transmitted to him by the devourer of gods made him change his mind. "It doesn't seem that way. This loa wasn't weak at all; it should be said that the devourer of gods is simply too powerful."
Everyone looked at Gale in confusion. Gale held up the devourer of gods, and only then did they realize with surprise that the devourer of gods had become a Divine Artifact.
"What's going on?"
"Your spellbook evolved?"
Gale explained, "It absorbed the soul power of this loa, which is why it ascended to become a Divine Artifact."
Everyone was incredibly surprised; it was the first time they had heard of such a spellbook.
Gale: "When creating the devourer of gods, I infused Hakkar's divine power into it, which is why it can absorb the souls of loa. Of course, even if Hakkar himself came, it would be difficult to absorb a loa's soul, as loa will resist. By the same logic, the devourer of gods merely provided this possibility. But you used divine magic to immobilize this loa, which gave me the opportunity to extract its soul."
Only then did everyone understand, but they also expressed concern.
"Gale, the devourer of gods is a bit too evil. You'd best use it sparingly."
"Soul magic is indeed strange. Unless you have complete control, it's better not to use it. Arcane is enough to make you a hero."
Gale smiled and nodded, but he didn't take these warnings to heart.
Winning every battle for the past two years had not only made Maiev arrogant, but Gale was the same. However, Gale was a transmigrator and understood how many strong individuals existed in this world better than others, which made Gale's arrogance seem less obvious.
"Thank you for your reminders, but we should return to Solidan Town first. The Drakkari Trolls won't attack for now. We should discuss how to assist the humans with their upcoming offensive."
With a loa dead, the Frostmane Clan would not let it go. In this situation, the Amani Trolls would definitely retreat to conserve their strength, accumulating power before attacking again. The Drakkari Trolls, however, were different; they hadn't suffered serious losses and would choose to continue fighting desperately.
If it were the Drakkari Trolls from ten thousand years later, they might have made the same decision as the Amani Trolls. But now, they hadn't experienced the Lich King's brutal beatdown and had no idea how terrifying it was to provoke powerful enemies.
If it were the Drakkari Clan, they might also choose to conserve their strength. After all, they had just lost fifty thousand troops at Alpha Fortress and hadn't dared to launch another attack on Alpha Fortress since.
It was imaginable how massive the offensive would be when the Frostmane Clan returned.
Humans were merely Gale's allies; Yue Nu would not bring all his troops over for Gale's sake. Without the help of the Kaldorei Expeditionary Force, the current military strength of Solidan Town simply wasn't enough.
Unless Gale could wipe out the Frostmane Clan with a "Forbidden Spell" like he did at Alpha Fortress.
"This time, the Drakkari Trolls are much more cautious than last time, bringing a loa with only a few thousand troops. Their next attack will definitely also include a loa, and Extreme Cold Storm might be as ineffective as it was today."
Carlos analyzed the situation, "Without Extreme Cold Storm, it's impossible for us to kill tens of thousands of trolls."
Maiev suggested, "What if we could take out the loa first, like we did today? Without the loa, Extreme Cold Storm could be effective."
"That's a possibility." Gale nodded. Although it would be difficult, it was one of the few methods available right now.
Carlos reminded him, "But how can we guarantee that we can kill the loa?"
Maiev fell silent; she had no solution to that problem.
Gale placed his hand on the devourer of gods. "We can completely replicate today's method. As long as we can temporarily trap the loa, I can extract its soul."
Maiev's eyes lit up. "We can help with that, just like today."
Carlos reminded them again, "Today there were only a few thousand trolls. Next time, there will likely be thirty to fifty thousand trolls, and there will inevitably be trolls protecting the loa."
Maiev fell into deep thought again. If Shim-Eba had been protected by trolls today, the Priests would never have been able to control Shim-Eba. In that case, Gale wouldn't have been able to kill it either.
Gale also didn't have any good ideas.
At this moment, the Vrykul dragged Shim-Eba's corpse back to Solidan. This massive corpse was enough to feed them for a month.
A flash of inspiration struck Gale, and he immediately had an idea.
"Perhaps I have a solution!"
He stood up and quickly walked towards the houses, finding Saru Solidan.
"Saru, I need you to temporarily give up this corpse."
All the humans were stunned. Saru asked in confusion, "Lord Gale, do you also want to eat reindeer meat?"
Gale shook his head. "I want to use it as a trap."
A trap? The humans were somewhat puzzled, but they still obeyed Gale's will. Shim-Eba had been killed by Gale, and its corpse should rightfully be Gale's spoils of war. It was only because of the war with the trolls that the humans hadn't hunted for half a month and desperately needed food. So, they had dragged Shim-Eba's corpse back, preparing to fill their stomachs to cope with the upcoming war.
Gale had the logistics department provide food for the humans, then found a valley and threw Shim-Eba's corpse into it.
Carlos led his men to set up scouting wards near the valley and also monitored the trolls' inevitable path. As long as the trolls launched an attack, they would certainly not escape his notice.
After arranging all of this, everyone returned to Solidan Town. Gale opened the portal of Gale's Tower, and five talented apprentice mages were transferred over.
He handed the eternal holy grail and Nash's Fang to Metri, and the other four each received an Elemental Spell Codex. He secretly gave them their tasks, then had them leave Solidan Town to ambush outside the town.
To ensure intelligence, Gale sent out the recovered Smaug, having him fly to the snowfield to confirm the time of the troll attack.
A month later, Smaug flew back.
Looking at the four marks the Proto-Dragon drew on the ground, Gale confirmed the Frostmane Clan's strength. A few days later, Carlos discovered through the Asunite Eye Stone that the Frostmane Clan had already emerged from the snowfield and was advancing towards Solidan Town.
Since the trolls had destroyed the scouting wards, it was temporarily impossible to determine whether the Frostmane Clan had brought a loa.
However, preparing for the worst, Gale still made preparations assuming a loa was accompanying them.
