Carlos waved his hand, and the Alpha Squad warriors immediately took their positions.
They curiously observed the humans; it was their first time seeing such short Vrykul.
The humans also watched them, thinking that while these warriors were well-equipped, could such short beings truly handle Trolls?
Maiev nodded to Nasa, and Nasa immediately led three or five Night Saber riders out of Solidan Town.
These Night Saber riders were her students, specially trained by Gale as scouts for Maiev.
Navoli was directing the logistics team to transport supplies, and seeing Nasa and the others leave, he waved to Kana Darkwalker.
"Kana, you go with them too, see if you can help in any way."
Kana immediately Shadowmelded, following the direction the Night Sabers had departed.
Maiev raised an eyebrow; was Navoli doubting Nasa's abilities?
Navoli felt a bit awkward under her gaze and couldn't help but explain, "I just felt that sending only one wave of scouts wasn't very safe."
"Nasa isn't just any scout," Maiev said coldly.
Gale walked over and softly said, "It's good to have both a visible and a hidden presence for support."
Only then did Maiev let Navoli off the hook and turned to leave.
Navoli grumbled, "I was being meddlesome."
Gale: "You did nothing wrong. It's always good to be overprepared. While Nasa is strong, that doesn't guarantee success."
Navoli shrunk his neck, subtly glancing at Maiev.
He breathed a sigh of relief when he realized she hadn't heard Gale's words.
He didn't dare to listen further and quickly excused himself, "I'll go arrange the accommodation."
Gale didn't make things difficult for him but looked at Maiev's retreating figure.
Being overly confident was not a good thing; there were too many enemies in this world with unknown strength.
The Frostmane Clan's ability to survive and thrive in the snowy plains must have a reason.
Neither the Titan Guardian civil war nor the Vrykul's outward expansion had weakened their strength, indicating that their high-level combatants must be very strong, no weaker than Vrykul Dragon Knights.
The Frostmane Clan at Alpha Fortress did not represent their true strength.
If a loa had been present at the time, those tens of thousands of Trolls would not have perished so miserably under the Extreme Cold Storm.
If the Extreme Cold Storm hadn't worked, Gale would have definitely been bogged down at the fortress, unable to leave, and then Savis and others would have found it difficult to kill Shadra.
If Shadra hadn't died, the expeditionary force couldn't have breached Zul'Saroth, and the Kaldorei Empire wouldn't have expanded its territory for a thousand miles...
And if Gale remembered correctly, the Frostmane Clan worshipped many more loa than the Amani Trolls.
If a loa accompanied this attack, Nasa and the others' reconnaissance mission might very well fail.
Sometimes, bad omens are remarkably accurate.
Nasa entered the forest and quickly went into an invisible state.
However, they didn't notice the mocking look in the eyes of the reindeer grazing nearby.
Several miles away, a Troll Army of the Frostmane Clan was on the move.
Behind the army, a tall reindeer slowly followed.
The reindeer suddenly stopped, and a Troll who looked like a priest immediately ran to its side: "Great Shim-Eba, what are your instructions?"
Shim-Eba was a loa worshipped by the Frostmane Clan; due to its weak strength, it chose not to go to Zul'Drak but silently accumulated strength in the peripheral areas of the Drakkari Troll territory.
Although the Frostmane Clan was not as powerful as the Drakkari Clan, it was still a large tribe with a large population, and the faith it contributed was not only enough for it to use but also for its two fellow loa of the same species.
That's right, the Frostmane Clan worshipped a total of three reindeer loa.
Shim-Eba was known as the Father of Warm Winter, and in his presence, his followers could resist the bitter cold.
Shimruk was called the Sage of the Snow Plains; he could guide followers to better survive in the snow plains.
Shimtoga was known as the Mother of Prosperity; she excelled at giving birth to offspring, allowing followers to have more young Trolls and blessing the young Trolls to grow up healthy.
The three reindeer loa not only strengthened the Frostmane Clan but also allowed their Families reindeer to multiply and grow.
They not only lived in the snow plains but also infiltrated the forests of the Amani Trolls.
Compared to the harsh living conditions of the Drakkari Troll, they preferred to develop followers in the forests with good living conditions.
This forest, close to the snow plains, was the infiltration area chosen by Shim-Eba.
However, to his surprise, humans settled here and immediately raised their butcher's knives against his Families that spread faith.
The humans had no idea those reindeer belonged to someone; they only wanted to hunt for food.
But this action, in Shim-Eba's eyes, was equivalent to a declaration of war.
Therefore, he sent a small tribe of the Frostmane Clan to attack these humans.
Unexpectedly, the humans were very strong in combat and actually defeated that small tribe.
Shim-Eba felt a great loss of face, so he gathered all the nearby Frostmane Clan tribes, mobilized several thousand troops, intending to wipe out the humans in one fell swoop.
However, before they even reached the human town, they discovered Kaldorei scouts.
So these Vrykul and Dark Trolls were mixed together; no wonder they wanted to kill his Families!
Shim-Eba thought he had found the answer, so he issued a command to the priest.
"The reindeer have discovered traces of the Dark Trolls; they are riding Night Sabers and have entered an invisible state.
Send an elite hunter team to find and eliminate these scouts."
"Your will is the direction of our actions," the priest quickly agreed, then hurried to summon the best hunters in the tribe.
Due to the harsh living environment, Drakkari Trolls produced many good hunters.
In places where creatures are scarce, only good hunters can catch prey.
Soon, an elite hunter squad set off, heading in the direction provided by the reindeer.
Nasa and the others were observing the movements of the Troll Army when they suddenly saw a team of Trolls rushing in their direction, immediately alarming them.
At first, they held onto a glimmer of hope, but after changing directions several times, that team of Trolls continued to run towards them.
"We've been discovered, retreat!" Nasa disregarded the mission; now the most important thing was to get these girls back safely.
"Whoosh!"
A javelin shot out, heading straight for Nasa's neck.
Fortunately, Nasa, being battle-hardened, ducked her head and dodged the javelin.
However, it was too late for them to leave.
More javelins flew in, blocking their escape route.
Seeing this, Nasa immediately drew her weapon, "Counterattack!"
If they only dodged, they would eventually be hit.
Only by killing these Trolls could they withdraw from the battlefield.
Nasa did not let the girls use Shadowmeld; as old adversaries of the Kaldorei, the Trolls were very familiar with the characteristics of Shadowmeld.
Moreover, these Trolls clearly had the ability or tools to detect invisibility; trying to escape would only lead to a quicker death.
These scouts were all trained by the priests, and their combat abilities were not weak.
The Night Saber riders charged towards the Troll squad, swinging their moon blades and engaging the Trolls in a fierce battle.
The elite hunters also possessed superb combat skills, narrowly dodging the moon blade attacks and quickly drawing their javelins to launch a counterattack.
Just as both sides were entangled in combat, a black dagger appeared before the elite hunter's neck.
The elite hunter instantly fell to the ground, and a figure slowly emerged from the shadows.
"Kana?"
