The Son of Hakkar glared at the Rangers. If not for these mortals, it could have just feasted and grown stronger. Now, hundreds of living trolls had escaped, enough for it to cultivate for several years.
This was no small grudge!
"Roar—"
The Son of Hakkar roared, twisted its body in the air, and shot towards the wooden wall of the outpost. Before it even got close, it sprayed streams of venom. The Rangers quickly dodged behind the wooden wall. The venom sprayed onto the wooden wall, making sizzling sounds, showing how strong its corrosive properties were.
Fortunately, the Kaldorei had a way to deal with it. After battling Hydra Nash, Yue Nu had a premonition that they would encounter many venom-spraying enemies in the future, so he had trained the soldiers in dodging techniques early on.
The Rangers remained motionless behind the wooden wall, and from the side, they grabbed shields and held them over their heads. The venom passed over the wooden wall and landed on the shields. Shields of poor quality were even corroded with holes, but not a single Ranger was harmed.
Carlos saw the Son of Hakkar enter spell range and immediately cast a Frost Nova, freezing a part of the Son of Hakkar. But as he cast Bursting Ice Shard, the ice on the Son of Hakkar's body suddenly exploded. The Bursting Ice Shard only pierced the Son of Hakkar's scales, and then was squeezed out of its body by the Son of Hakkar's muscles, falling to the ground.
"Mortal! How dare you harm a god's body!"
The Son of Hakkar roared, spraying a stream of venom towards Carlos.
Carlos raised the Ice Imprint Grip. The venom did not corrode through the Ice Armor, but flowed down with water onto the watchtower. Although he successfully defended against the Son of Hakkar's attack, Carlos was not relieved; instead, he frowned deeply. Even a spell combo couldn't harm the Son of Hakkar, which meant there was no power within Madwind Post that could harm it.
The Rangers fired again, but even with the powerful Wind Power, the arrows they shot were bounced off the Son of Hakkar's scales.
The Son of Hakkar was temporarily unable to deal with Carlos, but it could deal with the Rangers. It floated in the air, its eyes flashing with strange light, and beams shot straight at the Rangers.
Star Eyes shouted a reminder: "Watch out for those beams—"
His warning came too late; the beams had already hit more than ten Rangers. These Rangers' eyes were dazed, their expressions struggling, but they quickly became blank. They quickly nocked arrows and then aimed their Wind Power at their comrades.
Star Eyes reminded again: "Quickly stop them—"
Fortunately, the other Rangers reacted quickly, immediately tackling the controlled Rangers and holding them down firmly.
However, the Rangers' formation had been disrupted. The Son of Hakkar took this opportunity to once again shoot onto the wooden wall, biting a Ranger's neck, swinging him up, and raising its head with its mouth open, waiting.
The Ranger screamed in terror, flailing in the air. He clearly did not want to be eaten by this strange snake.
Just as the Ranger was about to fall into the snake's mouth, a figure appeared in mid-air, grabbed the Ranger, and disappeared with him.
The Son of Hakkar was about to enjoy its meal, but ended up with nothing.
It twisted its body in the air, wanting to see who dared to stop it from eating. Soon, it found that person, a Kaldorei woman wearing an iron mask.
The Kaldorei sighed in relief when they saw this figure.
Carlos also relaxed, "The Iron Lady has arrived, Gale shouldn't be far."
That's right, it was Maiev.
Maiev swung her Demon Hunter's Cloak and looked back at the Son of Hakkar, "Monster, come and die!"
The Son of Hakkar glared at her angrily, "Mortal, how dare you speak to a god like that!"
"God?" Maiev sneered, "Besides Elune, there are no other gods in this world. Not to mention you, even the loa behind you wouldn't dare to call themselves gods in front of Elune."
The Son of Hakkar roared, "How dare you blaspheme the Blood God, mortal, you are seeking your own death!"
As soon as the words fell, the Son of Hakkar suddenly shot towards Maiev, opening its mouth to bite Maiev's neck.
Maiev disdainfully twitched the corner of her mouth, easily dodging the Son of Hakkar's attack. Then she fiercely shook her cloak, and the Shadow Walker Blade on the cloak sliced across the Son of Hakkar's wing, creating a wound on it.
Blood dripped from the wound, carrying a putrid smell.
"Damn it, its blood is poisonous!"
Maiev quickly flashed backward, simultaneously warning the other Kaldorei.
The Son of Hakkar didn't care about its injury. It floated in the air, laughing loudly: "mortals, have you seen the power of a god? How dare you disrespect the great Blood God, accept the Blood God's punishment!"
The Kaldorei retreated one after another. Before they understood what that blood was, they dared not approach it.
Carlos kept looking to the west. Why hadn't Gale arrived yet?
Compared to Maiev, Carlos still trusted Gale more. Whether in wisdom or strength, Gale was superior to Maiev.
But where was Gale?
"Arrogant!" Maiev snorted coldly, gently closing her eyes.
The Son of Hakkar was somewhat puzzled, "Mortal, are you giving up resistance?"
It didn't get an answer from Maiev, and couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. It wasn't a cautious personality. Although it didn't know what Maiev was doing, as long as it killed her, all her schemes would come to naught.
The Son of Hakkar twisted its body and once again shot towards Maiev.
Just as it was about to bite Maiev, a moonlight descended from the sky, enveloping Maiev. The powerful energy of the moonlight directly bounced it away. The Son of Hakkar twisted its body in the air, and when it stabilized itself, it found that it had been bounced out of the outpost and returned to above the ravine.
"What is this?"
It was confused, not knowing what had happened at all.
"Blasphemer! You are guilty!"
Maiev suddenly opened her eyes, and the moonlight on her body quickly receded. Then she vanished from her original spot, reappearing beside the Son of Hakkar, her Moonblade enveloped in moonlight, striking the Son of Hakkar's neck.
The powerful divine magic easily tore open the Son of Hakkar's hide, severing its head.
The Son of Hakkar's corpse fell from the sky, dropping into the ravine. Corrosive blood flowed from the corpse, pouring into the bodies of the trolls.
This could also be considered returning to its origin!
The Kaldorei cheered excitedly: "Long live the Iron Lady!"
The trolls' morale plummeted. Although they feared the Son of Hakkar, they revered the Son of Hakkar as a god. Now that the Son of Hakkar, a high-level combatant, had been killed, it meant that they would have great difficulty breaking through Madwind Post. Even if they did break through, their casualties would be heavy.
The Chieftain also knew things were bad, and he immediately looked at the Hakkari.
"Didn't you say that with the Son of Hakkar's help, we could win this war?"
The Hakkari were also a bit panicked. This troll attack was instigated by them. They wanted to attract more trolls to worship the Blood God Hakkar by selling war and fear. The Son of Hakkar was their important tool, and now that the Son of Hakkar was dead, they were also a bit at a loss.
