Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 — Sala, Puig, Vilamajó

Timmy was still rolling and scrambling on the floor with one of el Toro's lads when he suddenly heard a scream from the other side.

It turned out that after beating the four, León had picked up a chair and brought it down on the man's head from behind.

Once Timmy was free, he took the chance to knock the man out with a couple of punches, then went to help the others.

The fight in the bar was turned around in an instant, completely beyond el Toro's expectations.

The dozen or so men he'd brought were his best fighters, and wrecking a venue should have been no problem at all.

He'd never imagined there'd be such a hard man in this Sala network bar!

Fighting like that, he'd clear out all his men in a few moves.

"Bastard~!"

El Toro swore loudly, shoved the beauty in his arms away, reached to his waist and pulled out a navaja.

"Boy, see if I don't hack you to death!"

He charged furiously at León, but he'd only got halfway when a black gun barrel suddenly appeared in front of him.

El Toro froze mid-stride, his face trembling, not daring to move a muscle.

"You, you…"

He looked at León, his face going red, looking deeply wronged, unable to get a word out.

The bloody bastard didn't play fair. They were meant to be having it out with blades; why was he pulling a gun!

"Put down your toy!" León said lightly.

The moment the Tokarev came out, the whole place froze, and el Toro's lads didn't dare move.

El Toro felt utterly wronged and humiliated. He'd come to wreck the place, and he'd never expected things to go this way, completely out of his control.

He stared at León and said, "With all these people watching, I don't believe you'd dare kill me."

"Or you'll go to prison too!"

That was el Toro's last show of defiance. A gangster falling back on the law to protect him.

But as soon as he'd said it, León's gun suddenly dropped a foot, pointing at the family jewels below el Toro's belt!

What the hell!

El Toro's eyes went wide!

His body reacted on instinct: legs apart, he leapt straight up.

He'd swear it was the highest jump of his life.

"Bang!"

The shot rang out. El Toro fell to the ground, white-faced, legs like jelly. He squatted there unable to stand, dropped his head in panic and covered himself below with his hands.

Thank God, the family jewels were still there!

So close, just a tiny bit more, and he'd have been saying goodbye to women for the rest of his life.

Just thinking about it terrified him!

"Will you behave now?" León said lightly.

What else could el Toro say? He nodded with a miserable face: "Boss, you've the gun, you've the final say!"

"Take them all out the back!"

León told his lads to drag these men away, lock them up and question them separately.

…

When León left with his men and the captives, everyone in the bar breathed a sigh of relief.

They'd been too frightened to move a minute ago, but now everyone rushed out in a panic, not daring to stay a moment longer.

"Angie, let's go too!"

Ivonne Stack said, holding her friend up.

"I, my legs have gone weak, I can't walk!"

Ángela Carey was pale and terrified. When León had fired, he hadn't been far from her.

"Angie, why don't I carry you out!"

Howie hurried over now, wanting to carry Ángela on his back.

But Ángela said stiffly: "No, I'll just rest here for a while! You go on ahead!"

Though her tone was calm, her attitude was a refusal.

Her colleagues' behaviour just now had disappointed her far too much. Every one of them had pulled his head in like a tortoise and let a woman be bullied!

"Ah!"

The captain sighed helplessly, hurriedly settled the bill, said a few comforting words to Ángela, and then left with the others.

Among them was Howie, looking crestfallen. He knew that he and Ángela would only drift further and further apart.

The two women sat down on the sofa, and slowly calmed down, but their eyes kept straying towards the back.

"Excuse me, who was that handsome man just now? The one who beat four of them."

"He was amazing!"

Unlike Ángela's quiet personality, Ivonne couldn't help herself and quickly called over a waiter to ask.

And the waiter was proud to say: "That's our León. Of course he's amazing!"

"Then what's his full name? How old is he?"

…

While Ivonne was asking about León out front, León was out the back getting the details out of el Toro.

He held his lads separately, and soon they spilled everything.

"You're with the Puig Crew?"

León was a little surprised, because the Puig Crew and the Sala network were both under the same Sala umbrella, and the Puig Crew were no weaker than the Sala network.

Normally the two crews kept up a show of brotherhood on the surface, and tripped each other up behind the scenes.

He hadn't expected that this time, while the Sala network and the Ribes gang were at war, the Puig Crew would come fishing in troubled waters too.

"Yes, Wally sent us!"

Under the threat of having his family jewels blown off, el Toro spat out everything.

According to him, it was the Puig Crew's enforcer Wally Soler who'd told them to do it.

Pretend to be Ribes men and wreck the place! Make the Sala network and the Ribes gang fight all the harder.

And Wally Soler's position among the Puig Crew was the same as Francisco Gordillo's among the Sala network: apart from the leader, he was the top enforcer.

But what really interested León was the name Wally Soler.

The boss of the United Crews!

"After midnight, Barcelona is mine!"

Extremely arrogant!

It suddenly clicked for León: the United Crews meant the Sala network, the Puig Crew and the Vilamajó outfit!

These three crews were all old-guard forces in the Sala network, there since the Sala network was founded.

Though Wally Soler was just an enforcer in the Puig Crew now, it seemed he would do very well for himself in future!

Not only would he become leader of the Puig Crew, he would also merge the three crews into the United Crews.

Ambitious!

This time Wally Soler was using the Ribes gang to weaken the Sala network. No telling whether he wasn't paving the way for what he meant to do next.

Having worked all this out, León got ready to head back.

When he came out to the front of the bar, he found two beauties looking at him.

"Ladies, I'm sorry your night was spoiled!"

"Tonight's drinks are on me, by way of apology!"

León walked over and said softly. After all, el Toro had come to cause trouble for the Sala network.

These two beauties had been caught up in it because of him.

"No, I'm fine!"

Ángela waved her hand hurriedly, her face going a little red.

Ivonne blinked her lovely eyes: "Well, could you take us home, please!"

"It's awkward getting a taxi this late, and it's not very safe!"

León was slightly taken aback. So what did she mean, he was safer?
