Dr. Avery nodded. "You can be discharged this evening. Your alpha has been very... insistent."
"Yeah, I'm sure he has." Levi replied, earning a glance from the guy eating in the corner of the room.
Dr. Avery's expression shifted just for a second. Levi saw something that might have been pity.
"Mr. Quinn," the doctor said quietly, "if you need help…"
"I don't," Levi cut him off.
The doctor studied him for a moment, then nodded. "Of course. I'll have the paperwork ready."
He turned around and left.
Junior shifted uncomfortably by the window, checking his phone. "I should probably..." He gestured vaguely toward the door. "Ethan's gonna need help with the police situation."
Before Levi could respond, Junior was already moving, grabbing his bag with that same too-bright energy. "Okay Mr. Quinn!"
The door closed. Levi was alone.
By evening, Levi was finally able to say whatever sedative was in his system was gone.
