Hyun-woo is at his desk. He's not practicing. He's looking at a website for freelance songwriters. He takes out a notebook and starts writing lyrics. His phone buzzes with a notification. It's a news article about BTS's new song. He sighs, feeling the pressure. He knows he can't compete with them right now, but he has to try.
He types a message to a person he knows from his past life. A famous producer.
HYUN-WOO Hello. I'm a young songwriter with a few songs I think you'll like. I'm a big fan of your work.
He's lying, of course. He knows the producer personally. He's a ghost from the future, and he's using his knowledge to get ahead.
He gets a reply almost instantly.
PRODUCER Who are you?
HYUN-WOO Someone who can make you rich.

INT. ACADEMY CAFETERIA - DAY
Hyun-woo is sitting with Jisoo. She's eating, but he can't. He's too nervous. He's just sent his first song to a producer. It's a gamble, but he has to do something. He can't use his grandparents' money.
JISOO You're not eating again. Are you okay?
HYUN-WOO I'm fine. Just a lot on my mind.
Jisoo gives him a knowing look. She knows he's hiding something, but she doesn't push. She's a friend, and she'll be there for him when he's ready to talk.

INT. ACADEMY PRACTICE ROOM - DAY
Hyun-woo is practicing with his group. They're struggling. Min-su is frustrated.
MIN-SU We're not ready for this. We can't compete with Min-jun's group.
HYUN-WOO We can. We just need to practice more.
MIN-SU It's not about practice! It's about talent! Min-jun's group is better than us.
Hyun-woo is furious. He's heard this before. He's not going to let it get to him this time.
HYUN-WOO Talent isn't enough. It's about heart. We have something they don't. We're a team.
Min-su looks at him, surprised. The other members are also surprised. Hyun-woo has never said anything like this before.

Hyun-woo gets a text. It's from the producer. His heart is pounding. He clicks it.
PRODUCER The song is good. It's too good for a rookie. How did you write it?
HYUN-WOO It came from the heart.
PRODUCER I'll buy it. But I want to see you. Tomorrow, 5 p.m., my studio.
Hyun-woo feels a mix of relief and dread. He's done it. He's earned his money, but he's also put himself in a dangerous position. He's playing with fire, and he knows it. He looks at the crypto wallet on his phone. The amount is still low, but he knows it will grow. He's not afraid. He's not a rookie. He's a ghost, with nothing to lose.
