Chapter 21 - SCHOOL - MORNING

SCENE START]

FADE IN:

EXT. SCHOOL - MORNING

The morning sun is bright and harsh, glinting off the polished glass of the school buildings. The yard is a sea of chattering students, a normal Tuesday morning. But for HYUN-WOO (18), it feels like a battlefield. His backpack is slung over one shoulder, but his hands are clenched at his sides. His gaze is a constant search, his head moving almost imperceptibly, scanning every face in the crowd. Every person is a potential ghost from his past.

He sees his friends, JISOO (18) and TAE-HYUN (18), waiting for him by the gate. They are laughing, completely unaware of his internal war.

JISOO (She smiles brightly) Good morning! You're early today.

HYUN-WOO (He manages a weak, tired smile) Yeah. Couldn't sleep.

Tae-hyun looks at him, his face filled with genuine concern.

TAE-HYUN You look tired. Are you okay?

Hyun-woo nods, but his eyes are still searching. He sees a flash of red in the distance. A man in a RED JACKET is standing near the street, his hands in his pockets. He's looking directly at the school gate, a small, knowing smile on his face.

Hyun-woo's heart pounds in his chest, a frantic drum against his ribs. He stops dead in his tracks. He knows that face. He's seen it in his nightmares.

HYUN-WOO (He whispers, his voice barely audible) No... it can't be.

His friends stop and look at him.

JISOO What is it, Hyun-woo? Did you see something?

Hyun-woo doesn't answer. He just stares at the man, who now turns and walks away, disappearing around the corner.

INT. CLASSROOM - DAY

Hyun-woo is sitting at his desk. He's trying to focus on the teacher's lecture on Korean literature, but the words are just a meaningless drone. He keeps replaying the moment in the schoolyard in his mind. The red jacket. The chilling smile.

He looks down at his phone. A new text message is waiting from his producer, the man who holds his secret second life in his hands.

PRODUCER (O.S.) Any updates on the new track? Needs to be ready by next week.

Hyun-woo feels the pressure close in around him. He's a secret songwriter, a man with a past he's trying to escape, and now a target.

He glances at Jisoo, who is sitting next to him, peacefully taking notes. He feels a sharp pang of guilt. She's his friend, his anchor in this new life, but he can't tell her the truth. The world he's living in is too dangerous, and he can't risk her getting caught in the middle of it. He looks at her peaceful face and feels more alone than ever.

EXT. SCHOOL YARD - LUNCHTIME

It's lunchtime. Hyun-woo is sitting alone on a bench, a half-eaten sandwich next to him. He's not hungry. He's just watching the students, his eyes darting around, looking for any sign of the man in the red jacket.

He sees it. A flash of crimson. The man is at the other end of the yard, near the basketball court, talking to a student.

Hyun-woo's blood runs cold. The student is JUNG MIN-JUN. The arrogant, cocky trainee. The future leader of the group that replaced his.

The man in the red jacket is leaning in close, his expression serious. Min-jun is listening intently, nodding his head. They are not just acquaintances; they are working together.

Hyun-woo feels a sense of dread unlike anything he's felt since his "rebirth." The man from his past is a threat, and he's now working with his main rival. He's in more danger than he thought. He's not just fighting for his future; he's fighting to survive.

FADE OUT.
