"This is the nurse's office!"
Inside the open door, a gentle lady in a white coat smiled and greeted Celestial Weave and Saint-King Halo. But before Celestial Weave could respond, she was dragged away by her sister, running down the hallway again.
"This is the teachers' office!"
Through an open window, the new female teacher, who was organizing her lesson plans, saw the strange little troublemaker from her class and smiled helplessly.
Just as Celestial Weave was about to explain her earlier classroom stunt, she was pulled out of the school building by Saint-King Halo once more.
"This is the playground!"
On the sunny playground, a group of running elementary schoolers turned their heads at the sound of Saint-King Halo's loud voice, looking at the two with confusion.
"I—"
Celestial Weave wanted to stop and look at the playground; after all, this was where she would be training for the next six years. But before she could finish her sentence, the whistling wind left her voice behind.
"And this is the unremarkable, yet for some reason very popular, mysterious little path!"
Saint-King Halo pulled Celestial Weave to a wall near the school building. Just as she said, it was an unremarkable path. It was only ten meters long, ending at a wall, and wide enough for just three people. It was a small alley in the shadow of the building, untouched by the sun.
Celestial Weave didn't have time to explain to her elementary school sister why this place was so popular; it was a concept too advanced for a second-grader like Saint-King Halo. Perhaps she would naturally understand when she reached the fifth grade.
Regardless, after this long-winded tour, Celestial Weave finally managed to get a word in.
"Sister... I've... I've... seen enough."
As an elementary schooler, Celestial Weave was out of breath after being dragged across nearly the entire campus.
In contrast, Saint-King Halo, also an elementary schooler, was still full of energy. She tilted her head. "Really? What a shame. I still have several other ordinary, yet mysteriously popular, places I haven't shown you!"
Just how far has information spread in this elementary school? It took me until fifth grade to find a place like this, and only because I was running around aimlessly during PE class!
Celestial Weave leaned against the wall, panting, while silently cursing the upperclassmen who were spreading these secrets.
"Well, I suppose... this place will do..."
Saint-King Halo glanced around, and after confirming that no one was there, she spoke as if she had made a firm decision.
Seeing her sister's sudden hesitation and the suspicious blush appearing on her face, Celestial Weave felt herself start to sweat again. She slowly backed up against the wall, her mind frantically recalling the memories from this scenario.
In this scenario, she had been found and adopted by Saint-King Halo's mother, Isami Mai, and had spent six years with her sister, who was only a year older.
Celestial Weave desperately tried to recall those six years, searching for any clue that could explain the current situation, but all she could find was a repeating loop of "first-class" and that demonic "Ohohohoho" laugh.
Has this kid been like this since she was little?!
Celestial Weave closed her eyes in despair. Two lifetimes of experience were still far too narrow.
The air grew thick, and every second felt impossibly long.
Finally, just as Celestial Weave's imagination was running wild, Saint-King Halo spoke in a tone mixed with excitement and anxiety.
"You can open your eyes now."
Hearing this, Celestial Weave could only open her eyes hesitantly. What appeared before her was a red ribbon.
Eh?
Saint-King Halo held the ribbon in front of Celestial Weave with one hand, while the other anxiously clutched her skirt. Her eyes darted around, as if deliberately avoiding looking at her. "It's a gift. D-do you not like it?"
Celestial Weave took the ribbon, somewhat dazed. Staring at the familiar shade of red in her hand, she subconsciously asked, "Why?"
At her question, Saint-King Halo's tone became even more hesitant, and the blush on her face began to spread. But she still forced herself to answer. "I saw you staring at this red ribbon in the window of the accessory shop the other day."
"So I bought it with my saved-up allowance. I wanted to give it to you... as a gift to celebrate you starting school."
The memories of the scenario suddenly felt real. Looking at the red ribbon, Celestial Weave realized that the "her" in the scenario was also "her." This memory was her own.
It wasn't just a background setting for a script; it was something that had actually happened.
An altered... world line...
Mulling over the words, Celestial Weave skillfully tied her hair into a high ponytail with the red ribbon.
Then, she pointed to the blue ribbon on Saint-King Halo's horse ears and smiled. "I love it. And... it matches your ribbon, sister."
Hearing this, Saint-King Halo's anxiety vanished. Seeing how much her sister liked her gift, she placed one hand on her hip, held the back of her other hand to her face, and let out her signature "Ohohohoho" laugh.
"Of course! After all, I am—"
"A first-class sister."
Before Saint-King Halo could finish, Celestial Weave completed the sentence for her.
Looking at her blushing elementary school sister, Celestial Weave couldn't help but laugh.
The blush on Saint-King Halo's face deepened, whether from shyness or annoyance, it was hard to tell. She ran over to Celestial Weave, pinched her cheeks, and pretended to be fierce. "Don't you steal my line!"
Celestial Weave laughed, her words muffled. "I wash jus pwaying along wif you."
Seeing her grinning sister showing no signs of remorse, Saint-King Halo pinched her cheeks a little harder. "Hmph! A foolish little sister like you... I shall graciously forgive you. After all, I am a first-class sister!"
She gave her cheeks a few more rubs before stopping. Celestial Weave couldn't be sure, but she felt like the last part of that sentence was said a little faster than usual.
Celestial Weave was about to tease her again, but looking at Saint-King Halo, who wasn't much taller than her, she seemed to think of something. "Sister, you have great stamina. You ran around with me for so long without even getting out of breath."
Celestial Weave vaguely remembered hearing Saint-King Halo's name in her reality; she was apparently a very outstanding horse girl. Since she didn't know how to train as an elementary schooler, why not try training with this elementary school horse girl?
Before Celestial Weave could even suggest it, Saint-King Halo proudly puffed out her chest, a grin spreading across her face. Her bright eyes shone with unconcealable pride and joy; she was clearly thrilled to be admired by her younger sister.
"Then let me take you running! What else is a first-class sister for!"
