For several seconds, Lucien simply stared at her.
He had already expected the disguise to conceal the identity of a woman connected to the prophecy. He had assumed that once the disguise was removed, he would finally see the person everyone had been searching for.
But he had never expected to feel anything.
The prophecy had described the woman as a counterpart, someone destined to stand beside a chosen king. Lucien had always considered such descriptions nothing more than ancient words passed down through generations. He had never believed that meeting her would affect him in any way.
After all, what could possibly be special about one human woman?
That was what he had thought.
Yet the moment he saw her, every thought in his mind seemed to disappear.
His gaze remained fixed on her long hair, delicate features, and slender figure. There was something about her that made the entire world around him feel strangely distant.
