The Lightpool of the Elven race was only a fragment of the Original Lightpool's power, just like the ones belonging to the other races.
Something must have happened to the Original Lightpool, and from everything they had investigated so far, the vampire race seemed to be somehow connected to it.
As the guardian of the Elven race's Lightpool, it was his responsibility to uncover the reason behind its sudden weakening and find a way to restore everything to how it had been before.
The Lightpool was not simply a source of magic for their kind. It was the foundation of their entire civilization, with its energy flowing through their Tree of Life and providing the magical power necessary to sustain their homeland.
