Aira turned to leave with the Shadow Knight while carrying Snowball.
For a brief second, Snowball looked up at her. His golden and crimson eyes met hers. His expression was completely calm. Almost bored.
Aira narrowed her eyes. If Snowball had been human, he probably would have raised an eyebrow at her by now. Instead, she silently spoke to him through their magical connection.
You did that on purpose, didn't you?
Snowball blinked. 'Did what?'

I merely reacted to an unknown hand approaching my face.
But the one you bit was the emperor.

Aira stared at him. 'You just made things worse.'
Snowball yawned. 'I fail to see how I'm the problem.'
