"Mad enough to ditch a brilliant woman like you, just for a skank like her, of course, hahaha!" Carlos burst into laughter. The idea seemed absurd to him, though I knew Amara would be completely convinced that Carlos had lost his mind over her.
That woman was so delusional and foolish. She genuinely believed every man would drop to their knees for her.
She wasn't even attractive, and from what Andrew had uncovered, all the men who'd been with Amara were losers.
Cut from the same cloth as Charles.
Deadbeats, bastards, or both.
Carlos seemed to expect I'd jump at his suggestion right away. After all, I desperately needed that week away from that witch.
But I couldn't even manage a smile.
I furrowed my brow and questioned, "So you can cheat on me with Amara?"
"Huh?" Carlos's eyes went wide. He looked genuinely offended, as if I'd just insulted him deeply. "Cheat on you? With that skank? Are you serious?"
