Chapter 69 - 69

The events here were immediately reported to Nick Fury, who promptly took remote command. He cursed under his breath as he looked at the ugly, grotesque Abomination, then calmly took out his phone and opened Quick Shake, which he had downloaded last year.

Everyone in the command center stared at Nick Fury in astonishment. 'Isn't that a bit too blatant?' The employee who had been previously fined was even more indignant. 'Only the director gets to relax, but employees aren't allowed to slack off?'

"I'm gathering intelligence," Nick Fury said expressionlessly. Then, he turned on the Horn TV Station live broadcast and, as expected, saw Roshan, New York's famous 'battlefield' reporter.

'Good Luck' was the nickname New York citizens gave Roshan; whenever something happened in New York, she would appear in the most dangerous places but never suffered any harm.

"As you can see, five large monsters are wreaking havoc here, and many people have already died tragically. Also, my new cameraman has run off again, again, and again."

Roshan, carrying her camera, professionally live-streamed: "According to the news received by our station, these five large monsters are actually soldiers from the military. The reason they turned into Abominations is due to the military's evil experiments..."

While Roshan reported, the backend displayed photos of Bronski and the other four, along with a detailed introduction of their stories.

Next, the TV station cut to a small window showing the battle video from Calvo University. Andrew had not reported this matter until now, precisely for tonight.

"These five large monsters created by the military are extremely terrifying. The police and soldiers cannot stop them at all. Citizens, please evacuate this area as soon as possible and do not hold onto any A lucky heart ."

At this point, Roshan paused, then said in an 'you understand' tone, "No one knows what the military will do next."

The citizens were startled at first, then felt a chill run through them—given the military's nature, if they couldn't handle those monsters, they would certainly carpet bomb the area. Roshan was clearly hinting at this.

"Monsters are dangerous, but the military is even more dangerous."

The citizens of Manhattan swallowed hard and fled the area as quickly as possible.

Some could escape, but others could not, because they were surrounded by the battlefield and dared not move. The only thing they could do was pray to God.

Of course, God didn't come; instead, the messenger of the devil arrived. Yelena asked with a faint smile, "Are you willing to exchange your soul after death for safety?"

"We're open for business," Andrew said, sipping tea, as he pulled citizens filled with despair and fear into the illusion to sign soul contracts.

At the same time, an inverted cross spaceship appeared above the battlefield, and a large number of robots descended from the sky, transferring the contractors to a safe location.

With the 'help' of the Abominations and the military, Andrew's harvest this time would not be small.

"These monsters are actually all military personnel? Those bastards really can't be trusted!" Nick Fury cursed after watching the live broadcast. Of course, there was good news too; at least, there was someone to blame.

"The Daily Bugle's intelligence is too fast and too accurate, isn't it? Did they install monitors on the monsters?" Maria Hill couldn't help but complain. She asked, "Director, didn't you send anyone to investigate The Daily Bugle? The Daily Bugle is clearly problematic."

"One of The Daily Bugle's employees is our S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, and there are others disguised as cleaning ladies, bringing the newspaper's trash back to the branch every day. Do you think I haven't investigated?" Nick Fury said irritably, "The Daily Bugle's intelligence comes from a mysterious person, and even their editor-in-chief doesn't know who it is. Besides, The Daily Bugle is that person's property, so we can't go too far."

Maria Hill asked, puzzled, "What exactly does that person want to do?"

"I also want to know the answer to that," Nick Fury said, thinking of something, and asked the nearby communications officer, "Where is Andrew Wang now?"

The communications officer replied, "He's drinking tea on the roof of Rebirth Building."

"How leisurely. That's good news too; at least, he might make a move." Nick Fury shook his head, opened his communicator, and yelled to Natasha, "Natasha, these five Abominations are weakened versions of the Hulk and have healing abilities. Be careful; I've already sent Quinjets to support you."

Natasha couldn't help but curse, "Weakened versions of the Hulk? Healing abilities? Can it get any worse?"

"It might," Nick Fury said. "Natasha, special mission: go to the lab and transfer all of the Hulk's blood. Don't let it fall into anyone else's hands. If there's a problem, I authorize you to destroy all of it."

"Understood."

Natasha nodded and led a small team toward Graben Academy.

Here, Wolverine confronted the second Abomination. Wolverine said nothing, charging forward and plunging his two claw blades deep into the second Abomination's waist.

The second Abomination cried out in pain, grabbed Wolverine's shoulder, and threw him violently. Wolverine flew over a hundred meters, smashing through a wall and falling into a coffee shop.

"What immense strength. Thankfully, my bones are Adamantium." Wolverine painfully got up from the ground, his injuries healing at a visible rate.

Just then, Wolverine saw the second Abomination charging towards him with a rumble and couldn't help but curse—the wound on its waist was gone, meaning it could also heal itself.

Wolverine hated fighting against those with healing abilities the most in his life, because no one knew better than him how disgusting they could be.

Despite his dislike, Wolverine would not cower. He roared and rushed towards the charging second Abomination. Just as they were about to collide, he performed a practiced slide tackle, bringing the second Abomination to the ground.

Then, Wolverine plunged a claw deep into the second Abomination's heart. As he was about to twist it, the second Abomination roared and punched him in the chest.

Boom! The ground instantly caved in, forming a large crater. Wolverine felt as if his internal organs had shattered.

The second Abomination, gaining the upper hand, landed several more punches on Wolverine, each one causing the ground to shake violently. Then, he stood up and stomped his foot down hard on Wolverine's head.

Just then, an arrow shot towards the second Abomination's left eye. The second Abomination reacted extremely quickly, raising its left arm to block. Its body was incredibly tough; the arrowhead only penetrated slightly into its arm—the arrowhead was specially made of alloy, otherwise, it wouldn't even have broken the skin.

The second Abomination was about to pull out the arrow when a large amount of electricity surged from the arrowhead, spreading throughout its body. The second Abomination stiffened in place, unable to move.

Wolverine, half-recovered, seized the opportunity to leap up, his claw blades slashing fiercely at the second Abomination's neck. He refused to believe that it could survive without its head.

At this critical moment, a motorcycle flew from a distance and slammed into Wolverine, sending him flying and crushing a car behind him with a bang.

It was Bronski who had intervened to help. Then, he roared and leaped onto the side of a building, rapidly climbing upwards, sending a cascade of bricks and stones tumbling down. The residents inside were terrified, trembling.

Hawkeye Barton cursed and used a rope arrow to escape to the adjacent building. His small frame couldn't withstand an Abomination's punch. Seeing this, the Abomination immediately leaped across buildings in pursuit, and panic quickly spread to other districts.
