Ah?"
Susan was stunned; the new BOSS actually wanted to promote her? The problem was, she was about to resign. She tactfully said, "Mr. Wang, the board of directors has some objections regarding you and Doom."
It was more than just an objection; accurately speaking, it was extreme dissatisfaction—Doom was the core of the Doom Group. As soon as the news of him transferring his shares got out, the Doom Group's market value was directly cut in half. The directors were furious and were preparing to split and sell the group to recover their losses.
"A small matter."
Andrew said, "The board meeting will be held at noon. You can come with me then."
Susan hesitated, "This..."
"What's there to hesitate about?"
Andrew smiled, "If you win the gamble, you will be the group's vice president. If you lose, at worst, you'll be swept out, but you were planning to resign anyway."
Susan felt a bit awkward. She asked, "Mr. Wang, do you have a way to persuade those directors?"
"I'm very good at persuading people. Alright, you can leave now."
Andrew said. Susan nodded and turned to leave. She didn't hold much hope for Andrew's words. Those directors were devils who would eat people without spitting out the bones; they would never let Andrew control the Doom Group.
"Susan isn't sad at all. Poor Doom."
Looking at Susan's infinitely beautiful back, Andrew shook his head. Susan didn't truly love Doom; she had someone else in her heart. She accepted Doom only because she needed a man's affection.
Not long after Susan left, four men walked into Andrew's office. The leader was a middle-aged man who looked very intelligent, followed by Wind Demon, Earth Demon, and Water Demon.
Unlike their previous disheveled appearance, the three demons were now wearing designer suits and high-end leather shoes, looking quite presentable—completely like nouveau riche. Earth Demon, that embarrassing fellow, hadn't even cut off the tag.
"You're here, Howard. How's the investment company coming along?"
Andrew asked. Howard was one of the five souls he obtained from Mephisto, but his current body wasn't the original.
In Las Vegas, a lawyer, who was gambling with bloodshot eyes, gambled his soul with Andrew. Then, his body became Howard's.
"The procedures are complete."
Howard first nodded, then complained, "BOSS, I am the world's top Scientist. Using me as a lawyer is a waste of talent."
Andrew smiled, "Don't rush. You'll have plenty of opportunities to show off in the future. However, you might be outshone by your son."
"That kid?"
Howard was very displeased. He said, "Look at his gossip. Does he look like a Scientist at all?"
"Weren't you the same before you got married?"
Andrew shook his head. He asked, "Howard, I'm really curious, with your wisdom, why would you make a deal with Mephisto?"
"There are many things people are powerless about."
Howard didn't want to say more. He said, "I only made an ordinary deal with Mephisto. Who knew that this deal would stain my soul with dark energy? He used this dark energy to pull me out of the River Styx.
After that, I became his collection. God, I don't know how I spent the last ten-plus years. Every once in a while, he would grab me out and torment me. What's worse, he completely forbade me from doing research."
"It seems the latter makes you more resentful. Mephisto is an old fossil; he doesn't understand your value."
Andrew smiled, then he turned to the three demons and instructed, "Your future job is to use money to buy souls in places like casinos and hospitals. I am very easy to talk to; I can wait until after they die to collect their souls.
The more souls you buy, the richer the rewards I will give you."
"BOSS, we will definitely perform well."
The three demons expressed their commitment simultaneously. These days, following Andrew had been incredibly exciting, a world of difference from their previous life of hiding. Being able to follow BOSS was their greatest fortune.
Andrew said, "Very good. When buying souls, if you encounter colleagues, meaning demon worshipers, deal with them directly."
"Deal with them directly?"
The three demons were stunned. Wind Demon said, "BOSS, this will anger other demon kings."
"So what? On Earth, I am the strongest demon king. All souls are mine."
Andrew said, "Besides, do you think if you don't get rid of those worshipers, they won't become my enemies?"
The three demons understood and nodded, "BOSS, we know what to do."
"You are my subordinates; you don't need to fear anyone. I will give you the power and glory you desire. However, let me make one thing clear: all transactions must be voluntary, and you are not allowed to harm humans."
Andrew said with a cold voice, "I believe you don't want to know the consequences of disobeying my orders."
The three demons quickly bowed their heads and said, "We wouldn't dare."
Andrew waved his hand, "Go. Each month, I will set a performance standard for you. Don't disappoint me. As for money, don't worry, I will keep transferring it to you."
"Yes."
The three demons left respectfully. Howard looked at Andrew and said, "Aside from the final deterrence, you are completely different from other demon kings."
"Whether being a human or a demon king, one must have some principles."
Andrew shook his head. He said, "Come with me to the board meeting. There will be a lot of documents for you to handle then."
"Alright, I'll moonlight for a couple more days."
Howard winked and said, "I'm familiar with New York. Want to go out tonight? Maria is in heaven, and I'm single now."
"With you like this, how can you even have the nerve to look down on your own son?"
Andrew retorted. He said, "First, let's do serious business. This is the rising period of my career."
...
Board meeting!
From the very beginning, those directors didn't even look Andrew in the eye. Ned, an investor from a certain bank, directly said, "Mr. Wang, you are not a member of the Doom Group. You can just observe this meeting. We will acquire your shares at market price."
"That's right, just watch from the side and don't speak."
The directors all spoke up. This matter had caused them significant losses, so they naturally had a poor attitude towards Andrew.
Andrew smiled, "I originally wanted to be polite, but since you're not, then I won't pretend anymore."
"You want to be impolite to us?"
Ned looked disdainful, and the others scoffed endlessly, not putting Andrew in their eyes at all.
Susan, standing behind Andrew, couldn't help but shake her head. In her opinion, Andrew was a bit too arrogant. Only Howard looked at these directors with pity; they had no idea who they were offending.
Andrew stopped wasting words. Two flames lit up in his eyes. As soon as the directors met the flames in his eyes, all the bad deeds they had ever committed immediately surfaced in their minds.
For example, Ned had once betrayed his brother and used loans to kill hundreds of innocent people. Now, these bad deeds surfaced one by one.
