The night was quiet , the air was heavy inside the small hose. The food on the table had gone cold. No one started to eat.
"I told you many times," Sam's father shouted and hitting the table hard. "She is not good enough for you!"
Sam's mother look at him with cold eyes. "Our family will never accept a village girl marrying into our home. Living together is out of the question!"
A sharp pain pierced Sam chest like a needle. His fists curled tight, and a stubborn light flickered in his eyes. " You don't know her! She is kind and hardworking. We've been together six months, She understands me and respect me more than any of you."
Sam's father stood up, his face ed with anger. "I worked so hard to raise you all these years, and now you want to fight with us over a girl?"
Sam's mother voice was sharp. "If you choose her, then leave this house. Once you step out that door, you are not longer part of this family."
The room fell silent. It was so quiet that the only sound was the ticking of the alarm clock "TIK TA TIK TA"
Sam feel hurt, but he knew he had to make a choice.
He stood up and shouted,"If you cannot accept her, than I will leave! "
He grabbed his suitcase and rushed to the door. His parents did not stop him.
BANG!!! The door closed behind Sam. The cold night wind blew on his face.
Under the pale moonlight, he dragged his suitcase, with only one thought in mind to find Valerie.
