"Stop talking," I muttered under my breath as Varak continued rambling about one of the werewolves whose backside, according to him, was attractive enough to make every other male in the arena lose control—except me.
I didn't understand his problem, especially in front of everyone gathered in the arena, or why he would go to such lengths just to have someone else in his bed.
I glanced at the werewolf he was eyeing and shook my head in silent refusal. Nothing was appealing about her.
"But I need my energy right now, and you wouldn't let me sleep with that human because you have feelings for her. You've been thinking about her ever since they left for the forest."
He wasn't lying. It was the truth, though I didn't expect him to say it so bluntly. It wasn't that I had feelings for her, as he exaggerated. I just feared what could happen to her once Varak got what he wanted.
