"That was a sad story," Angelica said, wiping a lone tear from her eyes. "It's so tragic that you had to face all that as a child." She heaved a sigh and rubbed my shoulder gently.
"I am so sorry for everything you endured as a little girl." I nodded in response, smiling faintly at her as if I were happy to be in the werewolf world.
I hated everything about them but Angelica was an exception. She was the only one who had truly shown that she was different from the rest.
"You are so lucky to be born in the world of the werewolves," I told her, and she burst into laughter.
"You have no idea what I am facing now," she replied, kicking pebbles along the forest floor with her black boots.
The forest had remained calm since we arrived, and no sound had broken the quiet. This made me wonder if the forest was not as dangerous as it appeared, and it made me question why we had been given weapons.
"What are you facing?" I asked after a few moments of contemplation.
