Varrek decided to go downstairs and talk to Jorvin, once he found him, he tapped his shoulder and spoke up:
-Is there a limit to how many demons one can be a host to?- He asked te question in a way that sounded like he geniuenly didn't know the answer
-Why are you asking?- Jorvin asked, starting to get cautious
-The demons whisper and tell me alot of things- He answered
-Yes there is, but it's not known.- Jorvin lied.
-Ah that's a shame- the boy feigned disappoitment and walked away.
So Jorvin lied, he clearly doesn't want the boy to realise this, he wants Varrek to fear him. He was starting to understand the amount of power he could possibly have, with all the gods charging up his body, maybe he could even get back to Verdalis. He went back to his room, not really paying attention to Syrra or Darron, which were starting to get curious about his peculiar behaviour. He grabbed "The Silent Verses", which he asked one of the demons to copy for him and began studying it. He found the main demon, the one that's above every other unholy creature. If he learns the spell, and survives the summoning, he'll be able to control the devil him self. Still, he doesn't know how many demons he can live with. Then Malvoryx whispered to him:
-Someone's coming.
As soon as he heard the words he shoved the book under his pillow and tried to act normal (which he wasn't good at). Then Syrra walked into the room, looking around.
-I've never been in your room, you know? -She said casually.
-Really?- Varrek asked.
-Mhm.- She answered- So what were you doing before I walked in?-She asked.
-Nothing. Just looking out the window.- Varrek answered, on edge
-You okay? I found some bloody clothes in the laundry yesterday.
-I'm good. It's from a hunting accident.-He mumbled.
-Sure..-She answered- My family has this...rare power which lets us sense spiritual presense. That includes demons,i sense eight coming from you.
-What? No way..- He answered quickly. But something made him curious. Eight? He only summoned seven so far..
-Maybe I'm wrong.- She left the room without saying a word.
Varrek asked to Malvoryx:
-Eight? You know something about an eight one?
-No, but I should be able to sense him. Unless he's..-He suddenly stops talking
-Unless he's what?- The boy asks curiously,
-Nothing, nothing, it's stupid.- the demon quickly pushes the question away.
Varrek decided to let it go, maybe she was wrong? The demon also knew who the eight demon was, the demon who even the devil him self once feared. One that can't be sensed, one that can resurrect in any life form. And he has chosen this boy, gifted with the ability to be a host for many demons. But the sheer fact that Syrra sensed it's presence was impressive aswell. If demons can't sense him, then her power must be insanely strong. This situation was werid. When the devil who can't be sensed ressurected he instantly possesed the victim's body. The last time he co-opperated with someone this well was over five hundred years ago when he lived inside an insanely strong wizard. So, Varrek really must have alot of potential, exceeding Malvoryx's expectations. There's also a chance that the boy is strong enough for the demon who can't be sensed to not be able to take him over. That could be the reason why he's able to handle so many demons. There has been no such thing in the world. Varrek might be the key to locking the demon feared by almost every unholy spirit for ever. And that demon is.. Azryth the unholy. He's been on this world as long as God and the devil him self. Just the fact that he can't posses Varrek makes the boy extremly powerfull according to the holy book aswell as the unholy one. Now this might be because of two things only. Varrek's either, related to a saint, or he's simply gifted with the strenght of his soul. Azryth only respects two beings, the devil and God. Right now Varrek clearly has the potential to become close to their level, if everything goes right. Combined with Syrra's ability they could technically shut every demon away for good. Cleanse the world of evil. After all a prophecy sealed away on Verdalis does say..
"When the world teeters on the edge of shadow,Two souls shall rise, bound not by blood but by purpose. The Unseen One shall knock at the gates of flesh,Yet the Unyielding Spirit shall remain unclaimed.Together they shall seal the darkness,And wield the power of a thousand fallen,For only the Soulbinders can tip the scalesBetween the Divine and the Unholy."
