Chapter 5 - The whispers of Malvoryx

After he changed out of his blood soaked clothes, Varrek decided to try talking to the demons. And one of them answered. Malvoryx.

-What do you want?- The demon asked.

-What exactly does he do to exiles?

-Jorvin used to sacrifice them when he was a cult member. He'd skin them and offer them to demons.- The demon said, bored.

Varrek felt like vomiting as soon as he heard that, but he held it in.

-Okay...so what can we do together, Malvoryx?

-I can enhance your body, or kill for you.- He answered.

-Enhance? How?- Varrek asked, excited.

-I can make it stronger, you won't be so weak after using magic.

-What's the catch?

-No catch.- the demon answered, clearly getting tired of this conversation

-Do it.-Varrek said, almost yelling. Not knowing what was about to happen to him.

Then Malvoryx showed up in his previous, horned form and shoved his something into the boys throat. He held him down while Varrek was struggling to breathe and trying to get out of his grip. Then he stopped. The demon disappeared. Varrek quickly got up and looked around, confused as where the demon went. Then he heard a whisper.

-Try summoning me. It wont hurt.

The boy excitedly started to summon the demon, and suprisingly, it didn't hurt a bit. After dinner, Jorvin walked up to him and ordered him to the barn, for a lesson. He asked him to summon a demon out of the book, but was visibly suprised at how much less reaction there was to the pain. He looked at Varrek with a cold and calculating gaze.

-Summon all seven at once.- he ordered.

The boy did just that. But as soon as the ritual started his every organ felt like collapsing. He started chocking, bleeding out of his eyes, his heart rate increasing and pumping blood way too fast causing it to leak. His face'd get pale and he'd start shaking. Then it stopped. All the seven demons were standing over him and laughing at him. Jorvin kicked him across the face and walked out of the barn

-Don't ask Malvoryx for help, it's cheating. And I'm not fond of cheaters.- He said coldly on the way out.

The next day was different. No Jorvin, just rest. The man went out to run some errands. But he came back with a girl around Varrek's age. She had long, dark hair, blue eyes and was of avearge height, she was also quite pretty.

-Boys, this is Syrra, she'll be living with us from now on.

-Where'd you find her?-Darron asked.

-On the street.- Jorvin asked, smilling again.

While the three of them were talking, Varrek was just realising the danger the girl was in. He felt a sense of responsibilty for the girl, a need to protect her. Meanwhile the demons were whispering something about her in their language. Later during the day the group went out hunting once again. While nothing interesting happened, Jorvin did seem more edge around him. Because of the demons? He needed answers. And he knew they were in the book. So he snuck out at night and stole it, he started reading and came across something interesting. No person should be able to be a host to more than three demons. He was host to seven. an attempt at four should result in death, and summoning more than one at once aswell. He summoned seven. Varrek realised, he's special. That's why Jolvin was on edge during hunting. The demons chuckled and started whispering about the fact that he finally realised. He decided to take a nap. While he was sleeping he had a dream of Syrra, she was hanging on a tree. The seven demons seating on the branch, Malvoryx playing with the rope while laughing quietly.

-You'll have to kill the old man in order to save her and Darron.- He said, cutting the rope with his sharp nails, causing the body to fall. Then one of the other demons pulled on his leg outside of the dream so he wakes up. Was Malvoryx lying? Does he have to kill him? Are his friends in danger? He can't take his chances. But what if the demon is lying? His friends could die at any moment and he could've prevented it. No. He will prevent it.
