Chapter 3 - chapter 03:

Just as the crocodile opened its maw and was ready to attack him, he jumped sideways and avoided that clash. He distanced himself from the crocodile and looked it in the eyes of that animal. That crocodile was truly bizarre. Instead of living in water, it was surfing on the ground, and its presence was nearly impossible to catch. Sajid looked around his surroundings to find something that could help him escape this predicament.

But as far as his eyes can see, all he sees is the forest and the pond from which he drank water. The only logical thing that came to his mind in that situation was to run. So he ran, he ran like his life depended on it. The crocodile chased after him.

After running for a while, Sajid started to become tired. His legs couldn't run anymore, but that crocodile was after him. Sajid refused to give up, and he had vowed to get to the bottom of the curse his birthplace has been put into. Then Sajid, seeing no other option, hardened his resolve and stood upright, and took a large stone as his weapon to fight against that crocodile.

In the meantime, the crocodile also reached Sajid, and the distance between them was starting to get narrower and narrower. Sajid braced himself for the upcoming fight. Then suddenly an arrow streaked past his shoulder and hit the crocodile's eye. The crocodile was writhing in pain and agony. Sajid was dumbfounded and looked back only to find that there was nothing. He tried to find where that arrow came from, and in the meantime, another arrow struck the crocodile was but this time the arrow bounced off the crocodile's shell. This time, Sajid saw that someone was standing in the tree and wearing some bizarre clothes, which looked absolutely foreign to Sajid. That man was shooting the arrows.

The crocodile became more furious and directed his anger towards that man. But the man was high above the ground, and the crocodile couldn't reach him. So the crocodile scooped some dirt and stone with his tail and hurled it towards that man. Meanwhile, Sajid found that the crocodile's attention was on that man, so he quickly hid away in the forest and also climbed up a tree just like that man. The man and the crocodile's fight continued and reached its climax as both the man's arrow was running short and the crocodile was badly injured. As the man finished nearly all his bows, the crocodile gazed at the man as a predator. But the man remained composed.

As he reached his last arrow, before shooting it, the man said something strange and shot it. Sensing the danger, the crocodile hardened its shell, let out a roar, and kept running towards the man. As the bow and animal collided, there was a defining sound, and dust was everywhere, and a gust of wind blew from the center of it impact. After the Dust blew away, there lay a crocodile dead with numerous holes in its body and black blood smeared everywhere beside it.

Sajid watched all these with fascination in his eyes, and he was amazed at how the man fought without sustaining any fatal injury against a monstrous animal. The man jumped from the tree and went towards the corpse of the crocodile. Bending down, he took out a knife from his pouch. The knife was pure black, and it looked like it was made from obsidian. Then he started dismembering the crocodile and took everything away in his bag along with his arrows, and started returning.

Sajid, seeing the man, started walking away and started to followed the man, as he was afraid of that man. The man noticed that the boy was trailing him, but did nothing to prevent him from following. They encountered some other monsters during their walk, but the man skillfully killed them with his arrow, and after each kill, he took his arrow back. He took some animal meat and their hides from them, and some were left with completely untouched bodies. As they walked, the sun was getting increasingly brighter and brighter, and it soon reached noon, and Sajid was starting to feel thirsty and hungry.

Then from a distance, Sajid saw a tower made with fences, and some men were guarding it. The Man walked past those guards and said something to the guards in their ears and walked past them inside, which looked like a village of some sort. After deliberating for a while, Sajid was unsure whether to follow that man into the village or not, but his hunger and his thirst for water made him take the bold approach to try to enter the village without getting any prior information about that village.

If this were a normal scenario, Sajid would have thought twice before entering that village to follow that man, because of what happened to him a few days back. But he gathered his courage and went towards the gate of the village and asked the guards if they could let him enter. But while reaching the guards, Sajid learned that he could not speak their language, and the guards looked at him suspiciously.

While Sajid was contemplating what he was going to do, his head buzzed, and terrible pain ached all over his body again, and he went down on his knees, holding his head. Just as the guards looked concerned and reached him to help him, Sajid passed out from pain.
