Chapter 2 - The Experiment

[Greetings JASON WINTER, you have been deemed ACCEPTABLE by the owner of this Multiverse. Due to your demise and your casting out of your home Multiverse, you have somehow ended up in my Domain. Your travel through the VOID enabled you to absorb an uncertain amount of Neutral Energy which upon absorption linked to an aspect of your life.

It seems that you gained a type of bestowal system which modelled itself to your passion for Superheroes, specifically what you know of as the Justice League. I refuse to go into detail about what that entails exactly as I feel it is best if you find out for yourself. All I ask is that you enjoy yourself and every now and then I may send you a 'QUEST'.

This is purely for entertainment for myself and hopefully yourself as well. They will not be beyond your capabilities, though they may challenge you at times. As these are purely for my entertainment and a kind of experiment there are no penalties for failure beyond the norm. If you succeed however then you may find a little something for your troubles.]

Jason stood up and after he had read through the message was dumfounded due to circumstances, he found himself in. He has an inkling what the system may do but until he explored it more and worked out the kinks he wasn't going to jump to any assumptions.

"Status",

"System",

"Menu",

Nothing, there was nothing, how did he pull up the system. There had to be some way to access the information. But despite going through all the options he could think of he got no response.

[Ahahahahaha that was hilarious, sorry about that. I just wanted to see what you would do and had a little bit of fun. If you have a look in the corner of your room on your desk is a computer that I have linked to the power. It will help you manage the system and it's various uses. The computer is linked to your soul and if anyone else were to use it then all they would see is a regular computer. Even if they walked in on you when you were using the system then all they would see if a regular computer, so do not worry about people finding out. The only one who can tell others is yourself. Anywho enjoy and have fun, bye bye]

His face went red in embarrassment and trying his hardest to ignore whatever it was that had happened. He was being completely normal thank you very much...

When Jason came into close proximity to the computer it automatically booted up and with a flash brought up a blank page with one question on it.

[IS USER: {JASON WINTER} READY FOR MEMORY SYNCRONISATION]

[Y/N]

Moving his mouse over the selections he hesitated over the Y for a moment before selecting the option. Looking around Jason noticed nothing happe...….. "ARGH!" he cried out collapsing to his knees as the mother of all headaches assaulted his head. As he weathered through the pain he felt the memories of his current self race through his head, seeing his childhood, adolescence and growing up with his parents.

The unconditional love and happiness from his family, all the amazing times and support through anything he did. They had the perfect life, until that night that they were shot by a mugger wanting their car to escape from the scene of his crime. In an instant his life went from perfect to empty, the only reason he had survived til now was the support from his close friends and family friends.

Though it seems the Jason whose body he moved into took the final step, he could not move past the grief from his loss. Jason had been exactly where the past Jason had been. The guild, the blame and the emptiness that all encompassed his life when his own parents had passed away.

Yet it was with the support from his family and friends that got him through those times, their perseverance to ensure he managed his life and their backing until he got back on his feet saved him.

Thinking of it now still felt hollow, but he knew that his parents would have wanted to live his life to the fullest. Coming to he stood back up and made his way back to the computer, wanting to continue on from the previous selection.

Though this time it was different and it looked kind of similar to a character sheet from an RPG.

'Huh, it all makes kind of sense, no idea what the hope points are for though", Jason was a bit confused by the information in front of him. It mostly made sense, but there were some parts that didn't make much sense.

But what did jump out at him was his own powers, 'HOLY SHIT! A Kryptonian, that is so bloody amazing', Jason was over the moon, though he thought about it. If he had the ability of a Kryptonian then what kind of world was he in. He thought back to his memories and tried to figure out where exactly he was, though for some reason he was coming up with a blank.

Deciding that it would be something he could figure out later he moved to the fact that he had powers, honest to god Super Powers. Eager to try them out he pulled himself short realising that his apartment probably wasn't the best place to test them out. Having some knowledge of where he was helped, as he knew some of the abandoned warehouses down by the docks could be used for some power testing.

With nothing else to do he decided that it would be best to get ahead of the curve and get started before he was thrown into the deep end. Jason moved to his wardrobe and upon attempting to open it he didn't account for just how strong he was. After pulling the door clean off the hinges, he realised that it may be a bit harder than he thought to get dressed.

Dialling back the already small amount of force he was using he managed to get changed, after ruining a number of outfits by tearing them in half. Having to carefully use his strength was a bit nerving at first and Jason realised that it would take quite a bit of adjustment. Especially so that he didn't injure anyone as he was walking down the street. Carefully making his way out the front door, Jason was pleased with himself as all he had to show for it was a slightly warped door handle.

Getting down to the street took a whole lot more work as he was walking on metaphorical eggshells. In his own defence he didn't hear any groaning from the stairwell and no cracking, he strained his ears to try and see if he was causing any unseen damage and it all seemed good so far.

Using the time to get down the stairs to also get used to his new hearing was a blessing in disguise. By the time he made it out the front door he would have had some serious issues if he had no practice with that particular ability

Especially with how busy it was, not only would he have drawn unwanted attention, but his mind which up to this stage had operated at normal human level would have struggled to cope with the increased input. Stepping out of the door he pulled himself up short, after all he now knew where he was.
