Windsor's POV
The question haunted me as I walked away from the Gilded building. Does he know? Gideon's casual comment about having a clue regarding the virgin's identity replayed in my mind like a broken record. The others had dismissed it with laughter, and I forced myself to join in, desperate not to draw attention. Yet something in his tone made my stomach twist with unease.
I glanced over my shoulder to see Gideon surrounded by eager Gilded Scroll members, all clamoring for his contact information. The sight made me quicken my pace, putting distance between myself and their hungry stares. There was absolutely no way he could know my secret. Only Pauline had that information, and she would never betray my trust. Miguel remained oblivious to my existence most days, though Weston had likely already updated him about my supposed transformation from the uptight girl he once dismissed.
