Windsor's POV
"Do you recognize that guy over there?"
Arnold's voice startled me as he emerged from the kitchen, steam rising from his coffee mug. He had brewed himself a fresh cup while I stood there lost in thought.
"Planning to answer me anytime soon?" he pressed, one eyebrow arched at my prolonged silence.
My eyes drifted toward the corner table where Weston sat, occasionally stealing glances in my direction when he thought I wasn't looking.
"I wish our paths had never crossed," I whispered under my breath.
Arnold took a slow, deliberate sip of his coffee before responding. "His girlfriend seems to share that sentiment. She looks like she wants to set you on fire with her stare alone."
I glanced back at their table just in time to catch Evelyn shooting daggers at me, her lips moving rapidly as she spoke to her companions in hushed, animated tones.
"I don't get it," I said, frustration creeping into my voice. "What reason does she have to see me as a threat?"
