Chapter 231: Necrozma
Two weeks later, the vehicle that Sophocles called the most perfect was born, and all the members were in place.
Lusamine said to Ryan with some worry, "Ryan, I know you are strong, please protect Lillie and Gladion. This is my request as a mother."
"Lusamine, we're family, no need for formalities, I will protect them," Ryan said.
"Tch, who needs your protection?" Gladion said unconvinced.
Then he was pulled away by the ear by Platinum. Although Platinum was not going to Ultra Space, she still earnestly told Gladion not to be stubborn and to listen to Ryan. After all, it was an undeveloped area, and everything was unknown, so it was no wonder they were so worried.
Ryan released Solgaleo, and all the members who wanted to go to Ultra Space got into the vehicle. Ryan glanced at Serena, who got into the vehicle with Ash, and couldn't help but admire her dedication: such a devoted girl, how did she fall for Ash, that oblivious guy?
After checking the number of people, there were exactly twenty-two including himself. Once everyone was seated, Ryan immediately coordinated with Solgaleo to use Searing Sunraze Smash. Gradually, Solgaleo began to walk on air, and the passage to Ultra Space appeared above them. Sophocles shouted from inside the vehicle, "Activate flight mode!"
With his command, wings extended from the sides of the vehicle, and propelled by Solgaleo, it took to the sky. Then, the Pokémon, the people, and the vehicle all plunged into Ultra Space.
Lusamine watched the Ultra Wormhole disappear and murmured, "I hope they're safe."
Professor Kukui chuckled, "Don't worry, Ryan is very strong. With him there, there won't be any problems!"
"I thought of Mohn," Lusamine said with a wry smile. "Gladion said he would bring him out of Ultra Space."
"Professor Mohn? The discoverer of Ultra Wormholes. He disappeared into Ultra Space and never came back. That's why you've been pursuing Ultra Beasts all these years, isn't it?" Kukui said.
"Yes. That's why I'm worried about Lillie and Gladion. I'm afraid they'll follow in Mohn's footsteps," Lusamine said. "I hope they're safe and sound."
Murphy's Law is a psychological effect that states: nothing is as simple as it seems; everything takes longer than you expect; anything that can go wrong will go wrong; if you worry about something happening, it's more likely to happen. The simplest expression is: the more you fear something will happen, the more likely something will happen!
That's exactly what happened to Ryan and the others. The more Lusamine worried, the more trouble came their way.
As soon as they entered Ultra Space, a Pokémon charged at them. Ryan sent out Greninja and used Water Shuriken Slash to knock it away, then caught it with an Ultra Ball.
"Not a good start," Ryan said, using his Psychic to retrieve the Ultra Ball.
"Hey, Ryan, can you hear me? What was that Pokémon just now? Let us see it!" Ash said to Ryan through the holographic communicator.
Sophocles also controlled the vehicle to extend a mechanical arm and take the Ultra Ball inside. Ryan said into the holographic communicator, "This guy is called Blacephalon. When it gets close to someone, it will suddenly detach its head to surprise the opponent. In that moment, it will steal the opponent's life force. Be careful, it's Fire and Ghost-type."
"Ghost-type? It seems to suit me well," Butler's voice came through.
The people inside the vehicle also released Blacephalon and examined it carefully. Blacephalon has a unique head. Yellow eyes are located at both ends of the head, surrounded by two pink and blue star patterns.
The pink and blue dots covering the head connect the two eyes. Below the head is a white area resembling a turned-up collar with frilled edges and a small hole in the center. Below that is a long neck and body with blue, yellow, and pink stripes, and a small white ball attached to the neck.
Two arms extend from below the collar, one magenta and one cyan, with white hands like clown gloves at the ends and frilled cuffs at the wrists.
A small white ball was also attached to its rear, seemingly its tail. The pointed end of the section representing its pants connected to white boots. Above its ankles were two small balls, one magenta and the other turquoise, their colors opposite to its arms. A small white ball was attached to its heel, likely for balance.
Blacephalon made a strange sound, then removed its head and threw it at Butler. Butler easily caught Blacephalon's head; some black smoke and sparks appeared, but it didn't explode. Butler chuckled, patting his Golduck beside him, saying, "My Golduck has the Damp ability, try and make it explode!"
Ryan rolled his eyes. This Blacephalon and Butler were quite a good match: a troublemaker with such an unusual Pokémon, they were sure to have some interesting antics.
"Do you like it, Butler? If you like it, this Blacephalon is yours to train," Ryan said.
"Hehe, how could I accept this, boss?" Butler chuckled, then without hesitation, captured Blacephalon in the Ultra Ball and stuffed it into his pocket.
"It's yours. I'll just deduct the points from your account," Ryan said casually.
"Points...! Oh no, you can't do this, boss!" Butler immediately cried out in despair.
Ryan suddenly felt a headache coming on, but inside this Ultra Space, he realized: they had been traveling all this way, and it seemed they hadn't seen any other Ultra Wormholes! Could it be that they had chosen the wrong direction? Last time, when they sent Poipole back, they had pushed it back through the Ultra Wormhole where it appeared, but this time they had entered randomly, and it seemed they hadn't seen any Ultra Wormholes at all.
But just as Ryan was thinking this, a dark figure quietly appeared behind Ryan and the others. Sophocles spotted it on the radar and immediately shouted to Ryan, "Ryan, something's wrong! A Pokémon is behind us, and it seems to be after us!"
Ryan was instantly startled and gasped when he turned to look: "Necrozma!"
He then yelled, "Everyone, hold on tight! This thing is coming towards us! We need to speed up and shake it off, or we'll be in danger!"
Ryan immediately told Solgaleo to accelerate. Solgaleo, sensing its natural enemy, quickened its pace and sped forward.
Meanwhile, Necrozma had already extended its giant claw and swung it towards Ryan and the others!
