Chapter 230: Preparing for the Journey
After the events with Manaphy concluded, Ryan and Lillie bid farewell to Jack Walker, preparing to head to Alola. Sophocles used the holographic communicator to message Ryan and Lillie, informing them that the vehicle was nearly finished and ready to depart.
Ryan replied that he would be heading to Alola immediately and simultaneously used the holographic communicator to notify his elite team to assemble there.
"Boss, is there a mission?" one team member asked, looking at Ryan on the other end of the holographic communicator.
"Activate team mode, let me explain," Ryan said.
Simultaneously, he activated team mode, and the holographic communicator projected multiple virtual images—all members of the elite team.
Ryan looked at them and said, "This trip to Ultra Space is to investigate the Ultra Beasts and explore Ultra Space itself. We don't need too many people. I'll call out names; everyone called, head to Alola immediately."
Then Ryan began selecting people. After all, Ultra Space was quite dangerous, and high strength was required. Ryan quickly finalized the list: First was Crescent, whose strength was considerable and had improved since joining the guild; then there were Morrison, Butler, and several other elite members.
A total of fourteen people. Adding Ruby, Sapphire, and Ash, the number reached over twenty. This was enough personnel to be deployed in different directions.
Sitting on the plane, Lillie thought for a long time before saying, "Ryan, I still want to go see the Ultra Space of the Guzzlord. I saw it once before, and after I went back, I actually looked into it. That place is definitely Hau'oli City. So, this time I plan to go to that Ultra Space."
Ryan nodded and said, "Okay, let's go and see. But we need to be well-prepared with gas masks; the environment there is really terrible."

After several days of flying, the plane carrying Ryan and Lillie arrived at the Aether Foundation in Alola.
Ash also sent a message to Ryan, saying he had completed his journey through the Battle Frontier. Scott originally wanted Ash to run his own Battle Facility, but Ash thought about it and refused Scott, as he still wanted to continue traveling. He also promised Ryan he would come to Alola, and he wanted to see Ultra Space.
After getting off the plane, Lusamine, Gladion, and Professor Kukui came to pick up Ryan and Lillie.
Lillie jumped into Lusamine's arms and said happily, "Mom, why did you come to pick us up? By the way, where is Professor Burnet?"
Professor Kukui blushed slightly and said apologetically, "Burnet is pregnant, so I don't want her overworking herself. I'll take over helping from now on."
Ryan was initially surprised, then understood: the couple had been married for a while, and having a child was wonderful news.
"Congratulations, Professor Kukui," Ryan offered his congratulations.
Kukui waved his hand and smiled, "It's nothing. You should go see Burnet later; she really wants to see you."
"That's true. Professor Burnet treats me like her own daughter. Ryan, let's go buy some things to give to Professor Burnet," Lillie said with a smile.
"Whatever you say," Ryan replied.
The group returned to the Aether Foundation headquarters in the Aether Foundation's vehicle. Ryan first went to check on the vehicle alone. Sophocles happened to be there too, and he explained it to Ryan, saying, "It'll probably be finished in about two weeks, after which we can head straight to Ultra Space."
Ryan nodded and said, "Okay. Let's set off once everyone's here."
Solgaleo had already been brought over by Ryan. In the Alola region, Solgaleo could easily enter Ultra Space through Ultra Wormholes; in other regions, this wouldn't happen as easily. In more scientific terms, the spatial stability of the Alola region is weak, allowing for easier passage through space, while in areas with stable space, it's very difficult. Of course, Unown doesn't count; those Pokémon exist within spatial dimensions, so spatial travel is natural for them.
Next, Ryan and Lillie visited Professor Burnet. Professor Burnet warmly welcomed Ryan and Lillie. Ryan looked at Professor Burnet; she was only recently pregnant. Professor Kukui was quite excited!
Lillie learned from Professor Burnet that she had only recently confirmed her pregnancy, conceiving around the time of Ryan and Lillie's engagement ceremony.
Ryan smiled: "Congratulations to you both!"
After saying goodbye to Professor Burnet, Lillie took Ryan for a stroll on Melemele Island before preparing to head to Akala Island to see how her school friends were doing.
Upon arriving at Akala Island, Ryan and Lillie learned that Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophocles, who was still busy at the Aether Foundation, had all become Trial Captains of Akala Island, responsible for the island's trials. However, they had no intention of going to Ultra Space. It's likely that Sophocles would have refused if it weren't for his interest in building the vehicle, or perhaps wanting to test its performance.
