[BL] Define the Relationship
The evening sky was soft and golden. Yuvaan sat on the edge of the rooftop, legs swinging gently, watching the sun dip behind the buildings. His sketchbook rested on his lap, half-filled with drawings of quiet moments Aarav's smile, their hands touching, the lake where they first kissed.
He heard footsteps behind him.
Aarav climbed up slowly, carrying two cups of warm tea. He handed one to Yuvaan and sat beside him.
You've been quiet today, Aarav said.
Just thinking, Yuvaan replied.
About us?
Yuvaan nodded. About everything. About how fast things are changing.
Aarav sipped his tea. I feel it too. It's like we're growing into something bigger than we expected.
Yuvaan looked at him. Does that scare you?
Aarav smiled softly. A little. But not enough to walk away.
They sat in silence for a while, the breeze brushing past them like a soft whisper.
Downstairs, Meera was helping Aarav's mom in the kitchen. She peeked out the window and saw the two boys on the rooftop, sitting close, heads tilted toward each other.
They look good together, Meera said.
They do, Aarav's mom replied. Aarav's been smiling more lately.
Meera smiled. That's what love does.
Later that night, Yuvaan received a message from Rishi.
Can we talk? Just for a few minutes.
Yuvaan hesitated. He hadn't spoken to Rishi since their quiet conversation at the library. But something in the message felt honest.
He met Rishi near the park. The air was cool, and the streetlights cast soft shadows on the ground.
I didn't mean to cause trouble, Rishi said. I just… I liked you. Still do.
Yuvaan looked down. I understand. But my heart is with Aarav.
Rishi nodded. I can see that. You two have something real.
Yuvaan smiled gently. We're still figuring it out. But it feels right.
Rishi reached into his bag and handed Yuvaan a folded piece of paper.
I wrote something. You don't have to read it now.
Yuvaan took it. Thank you.As he walked home, he opened the paper. It was a poem soft, sad, and full of quiet longing. Rishi's words were honest, but respectful. It wasn't a goodbye. It was a letting go.
Back at Aarav's house, Yuvaan found him sitting in the garden, surrounded by small lights Meera had hung earlier.
You're back, Aarav said.
Yuvaan nodded and sat beside him. Rishi gave me a poem.
Aarav looked at him. Are you okay?
I am, Yuvaan said. He understands. And I understand him.
Aarav reached out and took Yuvaan's hand. I trust you.
Yuvaan leaned his head on Aarav's shoulder. I trust you too.
Meera walked out with a tray of sweets and placed it on the table.
You two are glowing, she said. Like stars.
Aarav laughed. That's your favorite compliment.
Because it's true, Meera said. You're building something beautiful.
Yuvaan looked at Aarav. We're trying.
And you're doing it right, Meera said. With honesty. With care.
They shared the sweets, talked about silly things, and laughed under the soft lights. The garden felt like a safe place warm, quiet, and full of love.
Later, as the night grew darker, Aarav and Yuvaan sat alone again.
Do you think we'll last? Aarav asked.
Yuvaan looked at him. I think we already are.
Aarav smiled and leaned in. Their kiss was slow, full of feeling. It wasn't just about love it was about trust, about choosing each other again and again.
And as the stars blinked above them, they knew this was more than a moment.
It was the beginning of something strong.
Something they were ready to build together.
