Chapter 9 - Trust Me, Hold Me

[BL] Define the Relationship..

The morning sun filtered through the curtains of Yuvaan's room. He sat at his desk, sketching something in his notebook a small drawing of the rooftop where he and Aarav had shared their first kiss. His fingers moved slowly, carefully. Every line held a memory.

His phone buzzed.

Meet me at the café near the college gate. I have someone I want you to meet.

It was from Aarav.

Yuvaan smiled and grabbed his bag. He felt light, like the world was finally falling into place.

At the café, Aarav was already waiting. He stood beside a girl with short hair and a bright smile. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

Yuvaan, this is Meera, Aarav said. She's my cousin. She just moved here for college.

Meera stepped forward and offered her hand. I've heard a lot about you.

Yuvaan shook her hand, a little shy. All good things, I hope.

Mostly, Meera said with a wink. Aarav talks about you like you're made of stars.

Aarav blushed and looked away. Yuvaan laughed softly.

They sat together, sipping cold coffee and chatting. Meera was lively, full of stories and jokes. She teased Aarav gently, and Yuvaan could see how close they were.

You two are cute together, Meera said suddenly. Are you dating?

Aarav and Yuvaan looked at each other. Aarav nodded slowly.

We're figuring it out, Yuvaan said.

Well, you better figure it out fast, Meera said. Because someone else might be interested.

Yuvaan raised an eyebrow. What do you mean?

Meera leaned in. There's a guy in my class his name's Rishi. He saw you at the library last week and asked about you.

Aarav's smile faded slightly. Rishi?

Tall, quiet, kind of mysterious, Meera said. He's sweet. And he definitely noticed you.

Yuvaan felt a strange twist in his chest. He didn't know Rishi, but the idea of someone else watching him made him uneasy.

Later that day, Yuvaan walked to the library alone. He needed space to think. As he entered, he saw someone sitting at the far table tall, quiet, and reading a thick book.

Rishi.

Their eyes met. Rishi gave a small nod.

You're Yuvaan, right?

Yuvaan nodded. And you're Rishi?

Rishi smiled. I've seen you around. You always look like you're thinking about something

deep.

Yuvaan sat down across from him. I guess I do that a lot.

They talked for a while about books, college, and quiet places. Rishi was calm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. But Yuvaan's mind kept drifting to Aarav.

When Yuvaan returned home, Aarav was waiting outside his gate.

You were with him, Aarav said.

Yuvaan nodded. Just talking. He's nice.

Aarav looked down. I know I shouldn't feel jealous. But I do.

Yuvaan stepped closer. You don't have to be afraid. I'm with you. I chose you.

Aarav's eyes softened. I just don't want to lose you.

You won't, Yuvaan said. But you have to trust me.

Aarav nodded and reached out, pulling Yuvaan into a hug. It was tight, full of emotion. Yuvaan held him close, resting his head on Aarav's shoulder.

I love how you feel when you hold me, Yuvaan whispered.

And I love how you make me feel safe, Aarav replied.

They stood there, wrapped in each other, while the world moved quietly around them.

Inside, Meera watched from the window, smiling.

And across town, Rishi sat alone, staring at the sketch Yuvaan had left behind.
