In the dead of night, the sound of the laptop keyboard echoed through the stillness, each key hit punctuated by sharp, frustrated clicks.
Occasionally, a muttered curse would slip out, barely louder than a breath. "I can't believe this…" followed by a bitter, "What kind of trash is this even?"
The person hammering away at the keyboard was clearly beyond frustrated, their anger bubbling over in the harsh words they typed: "No logic, no plot, and completely mindless." It was evident that their irritation had reached its peak, each keystroke laced with a burning frustration that couldn't be contained.
All of a sudden, the laptop screen flickered into a blizzard for three seconds. It seemed like an illusion. But the hands that had been typing just moments before had vanished.
A pillow tumbled from mid-air onto the floor. The chair sat empty.
The apartment was silent, still.
Only the pale glow of the computer screen remained, casting its cold light into the room…
-------------
"What's going on? Am I blind?"
Audry blinked in confusion, her vision clouded by a sudden white haze. Just a moment ago, the screen in front of her had been crystal clear—now it was completely blurred.
Before she could make sense of what was happening, a robotic voice echoed in her ears.
"Congratulations! You are the 111111th transmigrated story conqueror. System 521 is at your service!"
"Transmigrated… into a book?"
"Is this a dream? I must be dreaming!"
"Correct, host," the robotic voice chimed again.
"The book you've entered is titled 'Return Of The True Daughter' Because of your deep emotional attachment to this novel, the system detected your presence and selected you as the ideal candidate."
"Host, you only have ten days left to live in your original world. However, if you successfully assist the system by winning over the male supporting characters and earn their sincere blessings for the main couple, you will help restore balance to this mini-world. Once completed, you'll return to reality—with an additional fifty years added to your lifespan!"
"…..."
When exactly is this dream going to end?
The electronic voice did not change due to the lack of response. It simply stated again,
"Initiating deployment for the host... Deployment complete! Host is advised to proceed with caution!"
"W-What deployment?!" A sudden chill crept up the spine. Just what had been "deployed"?
The very next second, Audry felt a strange tingling on her lips—numb, almost stinging.
Something was biting and sucking.
What is that?! Before she could even voice the question, the world came into focus.
The first thing she saw was a startlingly handsome face, magnified by the closeness of their proximity. Even though the surrounding light was dim, it was close enough that she could clearly count each of his long, thick eyelashes!
Audry's eyes flew wide open in shock. Wh-who the hell was this?
As her senses slowly returned, the situation dawned on her—this was real. She, someone who had never even had a boyfriend, was currently being pinned against a wall... and kissed like mad!
Her mind went completely blank. Instinctively, she tried to push him away, but the moment her hand lifted, he caught her wrist and pinned it back down, pressing her even tighter against the wall. He hooked the saliva between her lips and swallowed it, entwining his tongues like lovers.
"Mmm—who are you…?" she mumbled, her words muffled against his lips, struggling to speak but barely making a sound.
His breath was hot, tinged with a faint trace of mint—oddly familiar. There was something dangerously intoxicating about his kiss, something that seemed to sap the strength right out of her limbs.
Just when she thought she might pass out from lack of air, the man finally pulled back—just half an inch.
"Rachel, I love you. Marry me."
His low, magnetic voice trembled with barely restrained longing. The hand cupping the back of Audry's neck pressed her closer, sealing her lips beneath his burning kiss. His embrace was iron-tight, leaving her utterly powerless to break free.
Within mere seconds, the truth dawned on her. That name—Rachel—was far too familiar. It was the heroine of the very novel she had just torn apart in a furious review!
Don't tell her… she had actually fallen into the book?!
"Host, your mission has begun! Main objective: win over the male supporting characters in the book—break their obsessive fixation on the heroine, and ultimately win their wholehearted blessing for the pairing.
Secondary objective: uncover the truth behind the collapse of the book's micro-world!"
In the blink of an eye, Audry had pieced together the plot so far. Her gaze sharpened—this was bad. Dangerously bad.
The man pinning her down was none other than Nathan Blake—the male lead of the story.
