Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Maya woke up to the distant sound of scurrying mice. Her eyes fluttered open, but the room was pitch black, and she couldn't see anything. She realized her hands were chained to the cold, damp ground. Panic surged through her as she tried to move, but the chains held her firmly in place. Her body ached, and her face was covered in painful bruises.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Her voice came out weak and strained, barely audible in the darkness.

She strained her ears, and soon, she heard footsteps echoing closer. Maya decided to feign sleep, hoping to know who's coming because the last thing she remembered, was being beaten by Alpha Blake rogues.

The door to the cell creaked open, and a figure stepped inside. It was Alpha Blake, surrounded by his rogues. He smirked and splashed water on Maya's face, snapping her out of her pretense.

"Time to wake up, little slave," Alpha Blake sneered, approaching her menacingly. "Remember, in my territory, you are nothing more than a mere slave. You're not allowed to shift into a Wolf unless I command you to."

Maya's anger burned fiercely within her. Through gritted teeth, she retorted, "You may think I'm rejected, but I still have a mate bond with an Alpha!"

Alpha Blake burst into mocking laughter, glancing at his rogues. He narrowed his eyes at Maya and said, "If your mate truly valued you, you wouldn't be locked up in my cell. Accept your fate and bow at my feet like the submissive creature you are."

With that, Alpha Blake and his rogues left the underground, leaving Maya alone with her tears and frustration. She closed her eyes, praying to the Moon god for strength and protection. Her voice trembled as she prayed, questioning why she was enduring such suffering and pleading for safety.

The silence was heavy until a black wolf appeared at the entrance of the cell. Maya's heart nearly burst with joy, believing it to be the god of Moon answering her prayers.

"Maya, your prayers have been heard," the wolf spoke, surprising Maya. She couldn't believe her eyes—it was Eve, the wolf who had appeared as the god of the moon. She transformed into a human form and chuckled.

Eve approached Maya, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Sorry for pretending to be the Moon god. I just wanted to lighten the mood a little. My name is Eve, you remember me right?"

Maya shook her head in disbelief, staring at Eve. She couldn't fathom the audacity of the situation. "Do you know, you can also end up here if you're caught right now?"

Eve tell Maya to lighten up besides, she enjoyed pulling pranks, even if it meant acting as a deity. Maya told her that she's behaving as if life is easy for her, but to think about it she's not the one chained down.

Eve, exhale and sat down beside Maya, "you know what? I've been sold to different packs countless times for not obeying my Alphas, but I always find a way to survive and return to my pack. Because I refuse to let them break me."

Maya can't even define the kind of person Eve is, and she gently asked Eve what had caused her to scream the night before they left Florida because she heard the sound that night.

Eve's expression turned sorrowful, and tears streamed down her face. She stood up and whispered, "I'll go now."

Maya clear her throat and said, "I was also raped by Alpha Blake, that day." Maya's heart shattered, and she apologized for bringing up such a painful memory. Eve looked at Maya, her resolve firm. "It's alright. But I will rather not talk about mine.

Maya gazed at Eve as she walked out of the underground with heavy heart. Maya eye's flashed a mischievous smile and her eyes turned into golden cat-like orbs. She used her unique ability to scare away the rats that came too close, scaring them away.

***************

The lady wearing a flowing white robe burst out of the mansion, her voice carrying desperate cries for help. "Help! help me, please help!" She raced through the vast and exquisite garden, the beauty of the mansion's surroundings resembling a slice of heaven. But there was something eerie about the scene. The lady's terror was palpable as she ran and shouted, but no one appeared to aid her in her time of need. The silence of the mansion was broken only by her desperate pleas.

Just as hope seemed lost, a towering figure emerged from the shadows of the mansion. He wore a black robe that billowed around him, his face hidden beneath a cap. He moved with an eerie swiftness, almost as if he were carried by the wind itself. The lady, her eyes wide with fear, froze in her tracks when she noticed the figure approaching.

The mysterious figure closed the distance between them with alarming speed and, with a vice-like grip, strangled the lady until her struggles ceased. Her lifeless body collapsed to the ground, a victim of the figure's ruthless violence. As if summoned by a macabre signal, several men clad in black suits materialized from the shadows, their presence previously unnoticed.

The figure, now revealed as Alpha Rick, commanded the men to dispose of the lifeless body. Without hesitation, they obeyed, their movements efficient and practiced. As they removed any trace of the lady's existence, Alpha Rick retreated into his mansion, a place where secrets dwelled and darkness thrived.

Inside, he indulged in a lavish bath, washing away the remnants of his grim deed. Dressed in an expensive leather suit and shoes, he adorned himself with the most opulent wristwatch, a symbol of his wealth and power. Alpha Rick withdrew his phone from a pocket, his fingers dialing a familiar number with purpose.

Liam, on the other end of the line, answered with a cautious tone. "Hello, Alpha Rick," he greeted, aware of the gravity of his superior's call.

"I need a pure one this time around," Alpha Rick's voice resonated with a chilling intensity, emphasizing the sinister nature of his request.

Liam, though unsettled, maintained his composure. "Alright, I will do that," he replied, his words veiled in a mix of loyalty and trepidation.

Alpha Rick ended the call, the connection severed abruptly. With a sense of purpose, he pocketed his phone and retrieved his car keys. Stepping into his sleek automobile, he left his mansion behind, the elegant structure fading into the distance as he embarked on a path shrouded in darkness.

As Alpha Rick's car vanished into the night, the true extent of his power and malevolence remained concealed. His actions, shrouded in secrecy and deceit, had set in motion a chain of events that would challenge the very fabric of reality and test the courage of those who dared to stand against him.

The sinister mansion stood as a silent witness to the unfolding darkness, its elegant facade masking the horrors that lay's.
