NOAH'S POV
The full moon hid behind the clouds, throwing strange shadows across my study room.
It was almost midnight.
Everyone else was asleep.
Except me.
I sat behind my desk, going through my new files, at least just to forget her eyes, her sweet voice, and how was almost very close to kissing her earlier.
Daisy.
She hated me.
And maybe she had every right to.
A knock sounded.
Elias, my Beta, stepped in holding two cups of coffee.
His face changed like something was fun. He raised one brow when he saw the stack of papers in front of me.
He smiled and said, "I'm surprised you're still awake," he said with a grin. "But come to think of it, this is really nice though, I wouldn't be sleeping either if I had a pretty girl like that in my bed." He said that watching my face
I didn't even blink.
"I'm not sleeping with her," I muttered.
I picked up my coffee. "The office couch is just fine."
Elias stopped in his tracks. "Wait. You… gave her the Alpha's bedroom?"
He looked at my face like I'd lost it.
"You're never friendly with her kind, I've never seen you treat a vampire so nice," he said. "What's really going on, Noah?" "Or hope is not what I'm thinking?"
I looked up and leaned back, rubbing my mouth. "She believed I killed her mother, I just have to prove to her that I have nothing to do with her mothers death."
Elias raised a brow. "But that is really going to take a little long time?"
"No," I said quickly. Then added quietly, "Not exactly. I'm already working or I believe soon we will really find out what happened to her mother that night."
He sat down slowly, serious now. "Talk to me."
I looked out the window. Moonlight spilled through the glass, pale and cold.
"Four years ago, I was hunting a vampire lord named Cassian. He was dangerous—cruel. I needed help to stop him. So I asked the one person the Council warned me to stay away from."
"Away from one of the most dangerous vampires, I was thinking that he knows what happened to her mother" Elias guessed.
I nodded.
"Livia Black. A powerful werewolves warrior. He said yes. She saved some of the pack's life during the last mission. But... she died that night."
I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"I made a mistake. I thought I could handle Cassian alone. I couldn't. Livia covered for me. She fought until her last breath."
Elias shook his head. "You never told me this."
"I buried it," I whispered. "Like everything else."
He looked at me carefully. "So Daisy's not wrong."
"No," I said. "But she doesn't know the whole truth."
Elias leaned forward. "What truth?"
I hesitated.
Because this part wasn't just my secret.
It was hers too.
"She's not just any hybrid," I said. "She's the daughter of the vampire who died to save me. I owe her more than she knows."
"And yet... she hates you," Elias said.
I nodded. "She thinks I'm a monster. And maybe I am."
Elias frowned. "But there's more, isn't there?"
I stood and walked to the bookshelf. I pulled a leather-bound book from a hidden drawer behind it.
The cover read: The Book of Shadow Bonds.
I opened it to a marked page.
The prophecy was written in faded red ink.
"A child born of cursed blood shall rise,
Moon and night in her veins,
She shall bring death or salvation,
And when the Blood Eclipse comes,
Her power shall awaken.
The world will kneel or burn."
Elias read the words silently, then looked up, stunned.
"She's the one?" he whispered.
"She doesn't know yet," I said. "But that's why Cassian wanted her mother dead. And she's your mate?"
A knock interrupted us.
A warrior entered, out of breath. "Alpha… we have a problem."
"What now?" I asked.
"The wood seems like a vampire is around. They're at the border. Looking for Daisy Black."
My blood went cold.
"They're not supposed to know she's here."
The warrior nodded. "They know. And… this came with them."
He handed me an envelope.
I opened it slowly.
It was from the vampire's.
I stared at the words.
"The vampire's royal blood," I whispered.
Elias asked, "What is that?"
I looked at him.
"It's the night when her full powers will awaken," I said. "And the world will either be saved… or destroyed."
Elias looked shaken. "Shouldn't we tell her everything?" "Is better to tell her also let her know she's your mate."
"Not yet," I said.
He frowned. "Why not?"
I closed the book slowly.
"Because if she finds out too soon… she might run away."
"Or worse," I added darkly, "she might go away and I may never see her again."
Another knock came.
Soft this time.
Gentle.
Not a warrior.
I opened the door.
Daisy stood there.
Her face pale, her eyes wide.
She looked scared.
"I… I had a dream," she whispered. "But it felt real."
My heart sped up.
"What dream?"
She looked into my eyes.
"There was blood. All over my hands. And a voice said… 'You will kill him.'"
I froze.
"Kill who?" I asked quietly.
She didn't blink.
She just looked at me. She said, "I don't know who exactly."
DAISY'S POV
Noah looked at Elias and looked at me and said, Daisy, It's just a dream, come on don't take it too serious.
He saw how much
I was afraid and shaking, panicking before I could say one more word. Noah lifted me into his moving towards the hallway back to our room like I was made of glass and weighed nothing. "What are you doing?" "Put me down, I can do it myself." I snapped but was no use. He was not even acting like I was talking to him.
He held me more carefully in his arm,
His arms were so warm and strong around me, but I could feel the worry in every step he took. He placed me gently on the bed and pulled the covers up to my chin.
"Rest," he whispered, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "I'll be in the study if you need anything." His eyes locked in mine like he wanted to kiss me.
I nodded, too tired to speak. He opened the door to leave "good night." He said.
The door closed softly behind him, and I was alone again. The room felt so big and empty without anyone next to me. I wonder how only just him has been sleeping in this big Alpha's master's bedroom all along.
I stared at the ceiling, thinking about how he never actually sleeps in this bed with me. Did he really sacrifice his room for me…
He always finds some excuse to work late or sleep on the couch. Maybe he doesn't really want me to feel uncomfortable.
Sleep came quickly, but it wasn't peaceful.
In my dream, the room was darker than usual. The moonlight streaming through the windows looked wrong, like it was covered in power. I tried to move or talk but my body felt heavy, like I was underwater.
That's when I saw him but was not able to see his face.
A tall figure stood at the foot of my bed. His face was hidden in shadows, but his eyes glowed red like burning coals. He wasn't Noah. This man was different. Dangerous. Evil.
"Hi, darling princess," he smiled, the kind of dangerous smile he said in a voice that made my skin crawl.
I could've even shouted or I tried to scream but no sound came out no matter how much I tried. He stepped very more closer with the smile playing on his lips like he was having some kind of fun, and I could see his pale white skin and sharp fangs like a blade. His hand reached toward me but didn't touch me, and when he pointed his hand on my forehead, my body began to change from hot at the same time my chest . It felt like ice and fire at the same time. "What has he done to me?" I thought to myself.
"You won't be needing these for now, it's gonna be fun," he whispered.
Pain shot through my entire body. My chest, I tightened my grip It felt like he was pulling something out of me, tearing it away piece by piece. I could feel my vampire powers being ripped from my soul, leaving me empty and hollow.
"No!" I finally managed to scream.
But he was already gone.
I struggled to wake up, I dragged myself around the bed until I woke up gasping, the moment I sat in the bed up my chest was racing so hard I thought it might burst. My nightgown was already soaked with sweat that had covered my entire body, and my hands were shaking even when I tried To calm myself. I looked around the room frantically, checking every corner, but I was alone. I wanted to run away but it might be worse out there.
Just a dream, I told myself. It was just a nightmare.
But something felt wrong. Really wrong.
I touched my forehead where the man in my dream had touched me. The skin felt normal, but inside... inside I felt empty. Like a part of me was missing.
Though I. Don't even enjoy the fact that I'm a vampire, but that's the only power I have so I just have to accept it that way, but whenever I think of it, I use to end up being confused, living with Alpha vampire hunter, do I really have to trust him?
Can I, am I really safe with them here?
What if my power becomes dangerous one day like other hungry vampires out there.
I looked at my hands, and I tried to call up my vampire strength, the power that had been growing stronger every day since I discovered what I was. I closed my eyes and reached deep inside myself, searching for that familiar surge of energy.
Nothing.
I was surprised but could this really be possible, "Does this mean I'm no longer a vampire" 🤔
Panic started to build in my chest. I tried harder, concentrating with everything I had. Still nothing. It was like trying to turn on a light switch that had been disconnected.
"What's happening to me?" I whispered to the empty room.
I looked at the bed beside me. The sheets on Noah's side were still perfectly made, cold and untouched. He never comes to bed, I thought sadly. Even though we're supposed to be in the same room, he still keeps his distance. Maybe he's disgusted by what I am. Maybe he regrets bringing me here.
The morning sun was starting to rise, painting the sky outside a soft pink color. I should tell Noah about my dream, about losing my powers. But what if he thinks I'm going crazy? "He will not believe me. But maybe I still have my power.
If I tell Noah what is going on...
What if he decides I'm too much trouble and sends me away?
No. I couldn't tell him. Not yet.
Let me keep that for now before I see the worse.
I needed to think, and I knew exactly what to do next.
I stood up and went to take a glass of water. I remembered my mom. I think I need to do something before heading to school today.
Mom's grave.
I hadn't visited her since everything happened. Since I found out what I really was, since I returned from grandfather place the rogues, since my whole world turned upside down. I owed her an apology. I owed her so many apologies.
I bought out my trousers and shirt, I put them on, getting ready quickly, I looked at my dressing in the mirror quietly and snuck out of the pack house before anyone could see me. Alpha Noah won't allow me to go there if he sees me so I'm gonna do it quickly.
I looked at my watch to check how many minutes The cemetery was a twenty-minute walk through the woods, and with each step, I felt like someone was watching me. The trees seemed to whisper my name, and shadows moved where there shouldn't be any shadows.
