Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: The poison

DAISY'S POV

Noah hid me beside a tree "Stay here don't move away from here."

When he left to check what was that, I saw a flash of something that just passed but it wasn't Noah, that was scary And dangerous.

All my life I have thought and believed that I was a werewolf until my vampire power awakened even though I'm a vampire I'm still afraid of them.

Before I could blind I felt something was staring at me but as I turned we hit our bodies together I shouted with fear he stood up and hold me my eyes are closed I couldn't look because I was scared

"Daisy, open your eyes, it's me,Noah."

He smiled. "Are you really that afraid?"

I looked at his clothes and I saw some stains. It was blood.

"What was that?" "I saw something just the moment you left."

Noah looked at me and said, "never mind I have taken care of that."

"Daisy," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Your scent. It's... it's different."

"Different how?"

"The vampire part of your scent is almost completely gone. You smell almost entirely human now."

My blood ran cold. "What does that mean?"

But before Noah could answer, a new voice cut through the air. A voice that made every instinct in my body scream danger.

"It means, my dear daughter, that the first part of my plan is complete."

We spun around, and there he was. The man from my dream. Tall, pale, with silver hair and eyes like burning coals. He was standing almost a step away from us, smiling at us like we're looking fun, his face and his look doesn't seem normal like he has been waiting for this moment

for his entire life.

He looked at Noah, "did you receive the gift I just sent to you a moment ago?" he said.

He stared at me with a kind of dangerous look and one of his hands, "Hello, Daisy," he said in that same voice that had haunted my nightmare. "I think it's time we had a proper family reunion."

I looked confused, "what is he talking about?" I whispered to Noah.

Noah immediately stepped in front of me, without a word his body tensing for a fight. "Lazarus," he growled. And laughed so confidently.

"Ah, young Noah," are you really protecting a vampire now?" you're a vampire hunter that means you're supposed to kill her by now, wait don't tell me she's your lover." He laughed loud again, clapped and was so excited like he was having fun.

"Noah, you have been killing vampires from pack to pack now you meet the vampire princess you didn't want to kill her." "aren't you afraid that she might wipe off this little pack of yours?"

I saw how dangerous his voice was becoming. How pointless, trying to leave Noah to him is not a good idea."

"Stay away from her," Noah warned, and I could hear his wolf just beneath the surface, ready to emerge.

Lazarus just laughed. "Oh, my boy. You still don't understand, do you? Daisy belongs to me. She always has. I've simply been... patient."

"I don't belong to anyone," I said, stepping out from behind Noah. My voice was shaking, but I forced myself to stand tall.

My father's smile got wider, showing his sharp fangs. "Is that so? Tell me, daughter, how are you feeling today? Perhaps a bit... empty? A bit powerless?"

My heart stopped. He knew. He knew about my missing powers.

"It was you," I whispered. "In my dream. You took them."

"Took them?" Lazarus laughed again. "My dear girl, I didn't take anything. I simply... turned off a switch. Your vampire abilities are still there. They're just sleeping. Waiting."

"Waiting for what?"

"For the day you will return home to your princess position, of course."

Noah snarled and took a step forward. "Over my dead body." That will never Happen.

"That can be arranged," Lazarus said casually. "But I'd prefer not to kill you just yet, Noah. You see, I have plans for you too. You're going to play a very important role in Daisy's transformation." I looked at him "What is he really talking about?"

"What transformation?" I demanded.

"You'll see soon enough. But first, let me show you something interesting."

Lazarus raised his hand, and suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest. Not physical pain, but something deeper. Something that felt like my soul was being squeezed.

And then, for just a moment, I felt it. My vampire strength. It was still there, just buried deep inside me. But it felt different now. Darker. Hungrier.

"You see?" Lazarus said as the feeling faded again. "Your power is still there. But when I'm done with you, it won't be used to protect werewolves. It will be used to destroy them."

The words hit me like a physical blow. "No. I would never—"

"Oh, but you will," my father interrupted. "You see, I've spent years perfecting a process. A way to turn half-bloods like you into something much more useful. Something that craves werewolf blood above all else."

Noah let out a sound that was half-growl, half-roar. "You sick bastard."

"It's already begun," Lazarus continued, ignoring Noah completely. "The dreams, the loss of power, the emptiness you feel. These are just the first steps. Soon, you'll start to hunger. Really hungry. And the only thing that will satisfy that hunger is werewolf blood."

"You're lying," I said, but my voice sounded weak even to my own ears.

"Am I? Tell me, Daisy, haven't you been feeling strange lately? Haven't you been having... urges?"

I thought about the past few days. The way I'd been looking at Noah sometimes, wondering what his blood would taste like. The strange dreams I'd been having, dreams where I was hunting through the forest with fangs and claws.

I'd thought it was just my vampire side emerging. But what if it was something else? What if it was something worse?

"I can see it in your eyes," Lazarus said with satisfaction. "You're starting to understand. Soon, the hunger will become unbearable. And when it does, you'll come to me willingly, begging me to complete the transformation."

"Never," I said, but the word came out as barely a whisper.

"We'll see," my father said. Then he looked at Noah, and his smile turned predatory. "As for you, young Alpha, I want you to remember this conversation. Because when Daisy comes to me - and she will - I'm going to make you watch as she tears apart everyone you care about. Starting with your precious pack."

"I'll kill you first," Noah snarled.

"You're welcome to try. But remember, Noah - every minute you spend hunting me is another minute Daisy suffers. Another minute the hunger grows stronger. Another minute closer to her complete transformation."
