Chapter 8 - "I wrote about you"

Sorry if there are mistake in words, grammar, punctuation, etc.

Werner tried to hide the book under his pillow. He wrote about Kirana several times, and he doesn't want her to find out what he writes about her in his book. He wants to rip the page that contains Kirana's name, so she will never find it.

Werner looks panicked when he heard Kirana's footsteps and stopped in front of his door.

Kirana knocked on her door. "Werner" She called him.

Werner tried not to look panicked. He opened the door. "Yes?" He tries to sound nonchalant

"Why did you suddenly leave? Are you mad at me? If it's yes, i won't read your book again." Kirana said.

"No, I'm not bad. I just felt a little hungry. Do you want to eat with me?" Werner said. He was trying to divert the conversation. He closed the door and walked over to the dining table.

"I'm not hungry." Kirana said.

"Alright, then, I'll eat by myself."

Julia approached Adinda. She smiled warmly at him, they rarely spoke to each other. Adinda rarely talks to anyone, only to Kirana. Adinda came and talked to him about important things.

"I want to hire a teacher for my Adinda, so she can study with Werner." Julia said.

"But, isn't Werner in a public school?"

"Yes, but I want him to study at home as well. I think, if he were studying at home, he would be more focused. At school, he would only play with his friends, not paying much attention... Unlike Tobias, he's good academically." Julia said. "I want to study at Werner's house, but he still needs to socialise with his friends at school, and i still want him to study at home. So I ask now if you agree to let Kirana study with Werner, I will tell the teacher and pay 2 people."

Adinda is just quiet, she consider it. It would be nice if Kirana studied with Werner, because she couldn't afford to pay school fees. "Yes, I'll let Kirana study with Werner. Thank you very much."

Julia smiled at him. "My pleasure. Kirana is smart, I don't want her to waste her potential."

Since that day, Kirana has often studied together with Werner. The teacher does not come every day, only 3 times a week. Her teacher was a Dutch woman named Ms. Ella, who was in her early 30s. He was very kind and smart, and she often bought sweets for Werner and Kirana. He could see the potential in Kirana. Ms. Ella gave Kirana some books because Kirana loved to read books.

"Kirana." Ms. Ella called Kirana.

Kirana looked at her and walked closer. "Yes?" said Kirana.

Ms. Ella smiled towards Kirana, who was holding 3 books. "This is for you. I know you love reading books. So, it is a gift for you." Ms. Ella smiled at Kirana.

Kirana smiled, she looked happy. "Really? Are those books for me? Thank you very much." She picked up the books and hugged them. It was heavy, but she kept hugging the books. "Thank you very much. Ms. Ella." Kirana said

Ms. Ella smiled softly and stroked Kirana's hair. "Welcome, Kirana. I hope you like the books I gave you." said Ms. Ella.

Hendrik had just come home from work, it was late, and they were waiting for Hendrik to join them for dinner that Julia had cooked with her Adinda. Julia asked Adinda to teach her to cook local food.

Julia walked towards Hendrik. "I've cooked for you. I asked my Adinda to teach me how to cook local food." Julia said.

Hendrik smiled softly. "Really? The food will taste amazing then. As long as you're the one cooking it." Hendrik said. He took off his shoes and walked towards the dining table. He finds Tobias and Werner, who are already eager to dig for food. "You two look very hungry." Hendrik said, laughing.

"We are hungry." Tobias said.

Hendrik and Julia sat side by side. "We must pray first." Hendrik said.

They prayed and then ate the food. The food tasted very good, even though Julia was not very good at cooking local food.

"It's very good." Hendrik said.

"Thank you, I really try my best to cook local food, they use so many spices." Julia said.

"You cooks are the best." Said Hendrik.

 .........

Tobias and Werner are chatting in the living room, they're eating pastries that their mother made. They talk about their friends back in the Netherlands.

"Did you miss them?" Asked Werner

"Yes, I'm missing them. I wonder what they're doing right now." Said Tobias

"Maybe they're at school. We are a few hours apart." Said Werner

Julia walks toward them and sits next to Tobias. "Were the pastries good?" Asked Julia

"Yes, it's really good!" said Werner

Julia smiles. "Emma teach me how to make good pastries." Said Julia. "Even your grandmother learn how to make good pastries from her."

"Really? Emma must be really good at baking." Said Tobias.

"Yes, she's." Julia said
