Chapter 24 - Chapter 23 – Aftermath..

The cafeteria was still buzzing long after the fight had ended.

Vin Jin lay groaning on the floor, clutching his nose, sunglasses snapped in half beside him. His crew hovered but didn't dare help.

Zack Lee sat slumped against a bench, chest heaving, sweat dripping from his chin. His jaw ached, his ribs screamed, but the pain in his body was nothing compared to the fire burning in his chest.

Pride.

He had lost fights before. Bloody ones, street brawls, ambushes by multiple opponents. But this was different.

This wasn't a fight.

It was a lesson.

And he had been the student, thrown around like a rookie who didn't even deserve to be in the ring.

Whispers cut deeper than fists ever could.

"Zack couldn't land a hit.""Seong Min barely even tried…""Dog Pound, Zack… who's next?"

Zack's fists clenched until his knuckles turned white. His head dropped, hiding the rage burning in his eyes. He wanted to stand, to roar, to throw himself at Seong Min again—

But his body refused.

Every breath was heavy. Every muscle trembled.

And across the room, Seong Min didn't even look at him.

That calm. That indifference. That faint, sharp smirk.

Like Zack didn't matter at all.

Daniel stood frozen near the back of the crowd.

He had prayed, silently, desperately, that Zack would hold his ground. That someone—anyone—would prove Seong Min could bleed.

But what he had seen…

Zack wasn't just defeated. He was dissected.

Every move Seong Min made was clean, efficient. Where Zack fought with fire, Seong Min fought with a surgeon's scalpel.

Daniel's chest tightened until it hurt to breathe.

If even Zack—loud, fearless Zack—was nothing against Seong Min…

What chance did he have?

His fists trembled at his sides. His teeth sank into his lip. His throat burned with words he couldn't say.

It's hopeless. I can't stop him. Nobody can.

The thought hollowed him out, leaving only despair.

"Idiot."

The word cut across the noise, sharp and cold.

Mira Kim pushed through the crowd, her steps steady, her expression calm but her eyes flashing with restrained fire.

She crouched down in front of Zack, arms folded.

"You rushed in without thinking. All pride, no brain. You should know better."

Zack groaned, forcing a crooked grin through the pain. "Tch… Like I'd back down from a fight. That's not me."

Mira's frown deepened. "And look where it got you." She gestured at the crowd. "Flat on the floor. Everyone saw it."

Zack's grin faltered. His jaw clenched.

Mira's voice softened, but the steel didn't leave. "It wasn't strength that beat you, Zack. It was control. Discipline. He doesn't waste a move. You should stop trying to beat him…"

Her eyes flicked toward Seong Min, who stood silently, his gaze half-lidded, calm as ever.

"…and learn from him instead."

The words landed heavier than Seong Min's knee had.

Zack froze, stunned. His pride wanted to scream, to reject it. But a small, ugly part of him knew Mira was right.

And that truth stung worse than the bruises.

Crystal's fork scraped against porcelain, sharp enough to make her crew flinch.

Mira Kim. Of all people.

Zoe's hungry grin was bad enough. Yui's coy games had already pushed her patience thin. But Mira—respected, calm, untouchable Mira—telling Zack to learn from Seong Min?

Crystal's pride burned like acid.

Her face remained flawless, her posture regal, but her knuckles whitened beneath the tablecloth.

Every girl had their reasons—lust, curiosity, admiration.

But all of it centered on him.

Seong Min.

And worst of all… he let it.

Crystal's lips curved into the faintest smile, cold and sharp. But inside, her pride screamed.

Mary Kim hadn't moved since she entered.

She stood at the edge of the cafeteria, arms folded, gaze never leaving Seong Min.

She didn't speak. She didn't flinch. She didn't posture.

Her silence was louder than Zoe's laughter, Yui's teasing, or even Mira's sharp words.

And Seong Min noticed.

For the first time since the fight, his smirk faded into something colder, sharper.

Interest.

The bell rang, but no one moved at first.

Whispers lingered, eyes darted, rumors hardened into something heavier than fear.

By the time students began filing out, one truth had settled in everyone's mind.

J High wasn't the same anymore.

And the axis of that change…

Was Seong Min.
