Chapter 4 - THE ARGUMENT

DYLAN returns to where Lara fell, he sees her sitting and seems to be in pain.

He immediately approached her and tried to pull her upright, when she noticed that Lara winced.

"Stand up! If only you hadn't gone to any where you wouldn't have been injured!" He was angry again, and he was always shouting.

"Ouch.. Dylan it hurts, I think I'm crippled. Just leave me alone and go ahead Grandpa might be waiting for us now."

"Tsk.tsk. I'm seriously going to get married with a woman like you? Huh!" Dylan shook his head while looking at her.

"How can you give me a child if you are so weak?" He sneered, he picked Lara up and put her on his shoulder like a sack of rice. Lara was surprised by what Dylan did to her.

"Just put me down, I can walk!" She complained.

"We're going down the stairs, if you don't stop there I'm going to drop you here so you can get down easily!" it said gruffly. He was suddenly taken aback when Dylan stopped in the middle of the long staircase.

"Wa-wait what are you going to do?" She asked confused.

"Isn't this what you want? I'm about to let you go and roll all the way to the bottom." As Dylan told her.

"Don't be. Instead of just breaking my bones I might die." She said fearfully.

"Tsk..tsk!" Dylan shook his head.

After going down the stairs, elder Rosita and two other helpers saw them who seemed to be enjoying watching them both. They greeted them with a smile when Dylan dropped her off elder Rosita immediately approached her.

"Señorita, what happened to you? Wait, you have a wound. Oh, come first and we'll clean it up." said the old woman.

"Thank you for your concern elder Rosita. It's good that you care about me while others out there don't care and they don't have any feelings. Hmmpp.." Lara said with a frown as she raised her eyebrows and looked at Dylan badly.

"Don't blame me. Is it my fault that you're weak?" After cleaning the wound on her knee, they went to the kitchen.

"Oh Lara, why are you walking like that?" The Don asked her in surprise when he saw that she seemed to be crippled.

"Oh Grandpa, it's nothing. I'm sorry, I just tripped earlier." She tried to smile in front of the Don Julio. She ignored Dylan but continued eating.

"Be ready for tomorrow Dylan, I talked to Judge Reyes, everything is fine." it nodded.

"Grandpa, I have my plans after we got married. I'm going to take Lara to my house." he said seriously to Don Julio as he continued his meal.

"Hmm.. Is that what you want? But our house is too big—just stay here."

"But Grandpa, you know that I have my own house, don't you? I'm getting married, so I should just bring her to my house." Lara swallowed what was Dylan saying.

"It would have been nice to hear what he's saying.. Ayyiee, is he really going to take me home?" She whispered excitedly to herself.

"Are we going to leave Grandpa here alone? No— Dylan I want to be with Grandpa." Dylan glared at her, he glared at her angrily.

"You don't have a choice Lara!" it even gestured with its two fingers. Lara immediately understood what he meant. Rule number 2, she is not allowed to complain. Lara just scratched her head.

After they ate, Don Julio stood before them. He was going to go first. He had to talk to someone important on the phone.

Dylan stood up and left Lara in the dinning area without looking back. After a while the maids came to her. She only knows Elder Rosita and the rest she hasn't met yet.

"Lara, this is Sabel, she's the same age as you. And this is Vicky and Remy!" As elder Rosita introduced her to her colleagues.

"Hello Señorita Lara, you are so beautiful," Sabel praised her. According to this, she works here at the mansion to help her parents educate her siblings who are still in elementary and high school.

"Hello to you. When it's just us here, you can call me Lara. Señorita is too formal. I'm not even your boss here," Lara said smiling to them.

"Elder Rosita , where is your room? I would like to see it." As she asked elder Rosita. The old woman smiled and then led her to the maid's quarters.

"Wow.. It's beautiful. Can I sleep here tonight? Let's be next to each other please," Her eyes widened as she begged the old woman.

"Oh my dear, you're not allowed here. Señorito will definitely not agree to what you want."

"He didn't even care about me—let me sleep here please." the old woman scratched her head. While some of the helpers were very happy watching on her.

She laid down next to elder Rosita, while talking, suddenly someone knocked loudly on the door.

"Oh, maybe that's señorito Dylan." the old woman said to her.

"When he asks me, tell him I'm sleeping. Go ahead and open it," she said almost in a whisper to the old woman, then she adjusted herself on the bed and pretended to be sleeping.

Elder Rosita stood up to open the door, they were not mistaken— it was their Señorito Dylan.

"Is Lara there?"

"Oh, Señorito. Yes, she's here, she's already asleep." Dylan walked in, he frowned when he saw Lara with her eyes closed.

"Hey! Lara wake up! What do you think you're doing?" He shook Lara's shoulder but she didn't want to wake up. Dylan slapped his forehead because she didn't want to wake up.

"Has she been sleeping for a while?" he asked the old woman again.

"Yes, Señorito. Her leg is aching because of her wound—Señorita also seems to have a limp. Maybe it's because of the fatigue that she fell asleep easily." The old woman said lying. Then she turned her back and then made the sign of the cross because of what she had done lying. Without a word, Dylan approached Lara again and effortlessly lifted her up to take her to their room.

When they came out of the maid's quarters, their helpers all laughed.

Dylan continued to carry Lara to their room and he laid Lara down on the bed.

"I know you're awake. Don't pretend to be sleeping there. You really made me suffer by lifting you, you're too heavy!" he said shaking his head.

But Lara kept her eyes closed, opening half of her eyes from time to time to see Dylan's reaction. She laughs a little as she sees the young man getting annoyed.

"Shit! Why is he still handsome even though he's being rude?" Lara's mind shouted. She was still pretending to be sleeping, when she felt the young man lay down next to her.

"Oh, no! Are we really going to sleep next to each other? No! I'm not ready yet," she whispered to herself. When she heard the young man speak.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. You're not my type, yet you're not beautiful anyway." Dylan said to her with a smile.

Lara restrained herself, she was disgusted by the arrogance of this Dylan.

"Oh! If only I could punch you, you giant, I would have done it earlier!" But she has no choice, this is what she wants so she will stand by it.

"You're so arrogant! You're stupid!" her mind screamed because of annoyance.

"There's the blanket—don't tell me that I'll be the one to put it on you? You made me suffer by lifting you earlier and then I'll put that blanket on you again? Are you a princess that I have to serve?" even though the young man had his back to her, he still didn't stop talking.

"Hmmpp.. It looks like a girl. He chatters like a woman. Be patient Lara, be patient." Her mind kept on whispering.

Suddenly Dylan got up, he opened the dresser and got some pillows. Lara saw that, he returned to the bed and then placed the pillows between the two of them. He arranged it well. She laughs at what Dylan does.

"These are our boundaries, don't you ever dare cross on them. I know people like you, I know you have a hidden desire for me, you may take advantage of me or better to say you might rape me, who knows?" he said seriously to Lara. Lara suddenly got up and bravely faced Dylan.

"Huh! You're arrogant! You're too complacent of yourself. You think you're handsome—I've never had any desire for you. You arrogant giant!" She said in disgust while standing in front of Dylan. Se tooked the pillow and then went to the sofa.

"I know you're awake. I'm just testing you," he said with a smile to Lara. Annoyed, Lara forced herself to close her eyes, but even with her eyes closed she could still heard Dylan talking.

"It's up to you. Go ahead and talk there until you're saliva dries up. 'cause me— I am going to sleep, you rude man!" She said with annoyance.

She put a pillow over her ears so she couldn't hear Dylan. She forced herself to close her eyes, and because of tiredness Lara didn't realize what time she fell asleep.
